The PBR IA Fall Review event took place on Sunday, October 28, 2018. The event was held indoors at SportsIowa in Ames, IA. The event featured prospects from the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 grad classes; and included many breakout performances from this year's participants. Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance.

infieldER EVALS (ALPHABETICAL)

Isaac Bender, SS, Iowa City Liberty, 2020
6-foot-1, 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 6.84 runner. Athletic lean frame with wiry strength, wider stance with double tap trigger, easy load, balanced in box, length to contact with arm bar, shows hard contact, consistently squares baseball with flashes of pop in bat, 82 mph exit velocity. Light on his feet, sure hands, funnels underneath when fielding occasionally, solid accuracy to bag, 76 mph arm across infield. Works through ball well, fields out front, follows throws, short arm action from ¾ slot, 84 mph arm strength from outfield.

Adam Brauch, SS, Dowling Catholic, 2020
6-foot, 167-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. #8 ranked player in IA 2020 class. 6.84 runner. Square stance, knee to knee trigger, high back elbow creates some stiffness in swing, launch angle oriented approach, shows above avg. hard contact to pull side of field, has sneaky power in bat with ability to loft baseballs, 92 mph exit velocity. Solid footwork, sure hands, clean arm action, some softness to glove, projects out as offensive second baseman or athletic third baseman at next level, 84 mph arm across infield.

Owen Brauch, SS/RHP, Dowling Catholic, 2021
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.45 runner. Square balanced stance, slight rhythm in hands, shoulder tilt and works barrel uphill through contact, mid/pull approach, consistent solid contact with line drives and fly balls, 81 mph exit velocity. Softer hands to field, avg. footwork and direction to target, long arm action with slower release on throws, avg. accuracy to bag, 72 mph arm strength across infield.

Hunter Brown, RHP/1B, Southeast Polk, 2021
6-foot-5, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.47 runner. Square stance, leg kick trigger, compact swing, some stiffness with two hands on bat through and after contact, flashes hard line drive contact to pull side of field, 84 mph exit velocity. Above avg. arm for position, tends to squat to field, sure hands, solid athleticism, accurate arm to bag, 80 mph arm strength across infield.

Seth Clausen, SS/RHP, Pleasant Valley, 2021
5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.66 runner. Easy stride, compact swing, loses balance when falling over plate to swing, inconsistent timing during bp session, flashed hard line drive contact to mid/pull side of field, has ability to use both sides of field with solid contact, 81 mph exit velocity. Active in field with above avg. feet and hands, shows actions and athleticism to field, accurate to bag with carry and has ability to throw from multiple angles,  81 mph arm strength across infield.

Cooper Crouse, 3B/RHP, Waukee, 2020
5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.44 runner. Wide stance with choppy double tap trigger, has looseness in hands with solid rhythm, clean line drive path, barrels exit hitting zone early occasionally, gap to gap approach, 80 mph exit velocity. High fielding positions, moves with short choppy steps, sure hands, makes routine plays, accurate to bag with short stiff arm action, 72 mph arm strength across infield.

Brayden Dolphin, 2B, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 2020
5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting infielder. 7.44 runner. Wide stance, loads into back leg, strides over plate losing balance, flat swing plane, tends to hook at contact, some strength to pull side of field, 77 mph exit velocity. Works around and through baseball, tends to field deep into body, sure hands, solid accuracy to bag, 72 mph arm strength across infield.

Teddy Giefer, 1B, MN Valley Lutheran (MN), 2020
6-foot-2, 165-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. 7.78 runner. Balanced square stance, short load, some tilt in shoulder posture through contact, slight lift in swing plane, flashes occasional bat speed, barrel tends to exit hitting zone early creating inconsistent contact, 80 mph exit velocity. Works low to ground, soft hands, long arm action, accurate to bag, 70 mph arm strength across infield.

Jackson Hull, C/3B, Wilton, 2022
5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.15 runner. Square stance, front heel turn trigger, low hand slot, flat swing plane, some stiffness to swing, flashes of hard contact to pull side of field, 74 mph exit velocity. Works to field out front occasionally, choppy feet, makes routine plays, presents glove late to field, accurate to bag, lower arm slot, 72 mph arm across infield. Clean exchanges with quicker release, solid accuracy to bag, tends to work around plate with avg. footwork, lower arm slot creating tailing action on throws, solid receiver, has flexibility in lower half with solid later mobility, tends to catch with thumb underneath at times, 69 mph arm with 2.23-2.27 pop times.

Solid athlete in field, soft hands, funnels underneath body occasionally, low ¾ arm slot, shows range to both sides, 80 mph arm strength across infield.

Dylan McVeigh, SS, Cedar Rapids Jefferson, 2021
5-foot-8, 150-pound left-handed hitting shortstop. 7.47 runner. Slight rhythm with body load, works down and through contact, line drive path, gap to gap approach, solid contact with spray action off bat, 83 mph exit velocity. Active feet with sure hands, solid actions, lower arm slot with slingy arm action, accurate to bag with avg. carry, 74 mph arm across infield.

Parker Shupe, 2B/OF, Johnston, 2020
5-foot-8, 163-pound left-handed hitting position player. 7.01 runner. Compact build with present strength, open stance, loads into back side, above avg. barrel control, routinely squares baseball, and shows ability to work both sides of field with hard contact, 89 mph exit velocity.
