The PBR IA Fall Review event took place on Sunday, October 27, 2019. The event was held at Sports Iowa in Ames, IA. The event featured prospects from the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 grad classes; and included many breakout performances from this year's participants. Players showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and numerous college coaches in attendance. 

There were a number of great individual performances this year at the PBR IA Fall Review.

outfieldER EVALUATIONS

Isaac Boley, OF, Dallas Center-Grimes, 2020
5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. #137 ranked player in IA 2020 class. 7.14 runner. Open stance with slight shoulder load, solid bat speed and strength, shows hard pull contact along with ability to drive baseball to oppo gap, 87 mph exit velocity. Aggressive fielder, confident glove, short arm action with quick release, 82 mph arm strength from outfield.

Luke Bollier, RHP/OF, Iowa City Liberty, 2022
6-foot-4, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; swings into medium crouched balance point, lands open to plate, short arm action with length out front. Fastball was 73-74 mph with varying action for strikes. Avg. velo and depth on curveball with sharper break. Solid fade and sink on changeup for strikes. 7.71 runner. Square stance, leg kick trigger, low hand slot, stiffness in body, spray contact, gap to gap approach, 74 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, stiffer hands to field, long release on throws, 76 mph arm strength from outfield.

Hudson Dunwoody, OF/RHP, Ankeny, 2020
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.4 runner. Square stance, body load, rolls hands into lower hitting slot, works up through baseball, spray contact, mid/pull approach, 79 mph exit velocity. Average actions in field, covers ground well, clean arm action, tends to stop after throw, avg. accuracy to target, 78 mph arm strength from outfield.

Luke Fordyce, OF/RHP, Waterloo West, 2021
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.37 runner. Wide stance with long stride, stiffer hands in swing, arm bar in load creating length to contact, present wiry strength, flashes hard contact to mid/pull side of field, 88 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, works through ball, shows actions and is comfortable fielding the ball, throws have carry and accuracy to target, 84 mph arm strength from outfield. On mound; longer leg swing into athletic balance point, long clean arm action, shorter stride and lands across body cutting off lower half. Fastball was 80-82 mph, touching 84 mph, with varying action to plate. 12/6 curveball has solid depth and is thrown for strikes. Avg. action on changeup with flashes of fade and sink.

Colton Forslund, C/OF, Cedar Rapids Prairie, 2021
5-foot-9, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.6 runner. Narrow open stance, easy stride, simple swing, repeats well, consistent solid contact, line drive approach working gap to gap, 73 mph exit velocity. Solid athlete in outfield, works through ball, comfortable to field, avg. carry with accuracy on throws, 78 mph arm strength from outfield. Quicker feet with short arm action, quick release to bag with avg. accuracy, extra movements to receive, avg. blocker, 69 mph arm strength with 2.13-2.30 pop times.

Jack Fuchs, OF, Urbandale, 2020
6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. #114 ranked player in IA 2020 class. 7.00 runner. Long athletic frame, short leg kick trigger, compact swing, short to contact, line drive approach, consistent solid mid/pull contact off bat. Moves athletically to field, long release on throws, above avg. arm strength with carry to target, 91 mph arm strength from the outfield.

Max Packingham, 1B/OF, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 2020
6-foot-3, 190-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.94 runner. Square stance, solid bat speed, line drive swing with lift through contact, works mid/pull side of field, consistently squares baseball with flashes of pop in bat, 88 mph exit velocity. Capable defender at first base, easier movements, receives well around bag, keeps ball in front and makes routine plays, 65 mph arm strength across infield. Avg. defender in outfield, lacks arm strength, 68 mph arm from outfield.

Carter Schulte, RHP/OF, Waterloo West, 2021
6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #30 ranked player in Iowa 2021 class. On mound; rocker step into higher athletic tuck and turn balance point, long arm action with good hand speed out front. Fastball was 85-86 mph with varying action to plate. 12/6 curveball is thrown hard showing small shape with short break. Solid running action on changeup with fade in bottom of zone. 6.90 runner. Square stance with choppy leg kick trigger, arm bar in load, athletic with ability to square baseball with hard contact, 89 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, has momentum on throws, above avg. carry and accuracy to target, 89 mph arm strength from outfield.

Carter Thomas, OF/LHP, Mason City, 2022
6-foot, 150-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.03 runner. Tall upright stance, uphill path through contact, shows solid bat speed, line drive and fly ball contact off bat, pull approach, 77 mph exit velocity. Plays fast in field, athletic movements and action, long arm action, follows throws, shows carry and accuracy to target, 79 mph arm strength from outfield. On mound; segmented delivery, arm is long and loose, ball jumps out of hand with clean release. Fastball was 71-74 mph, for strikes, delivered on downhill plane. Larger break and shape on 1/7 curveball. Avg./solid run and sink on changeup to arm side of plate.

Jaylen Ziegler, OF/SS, Urbandale, 2022
5-foot-7, 125-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 8.13 runner. Strides open, works up through contact, tends to pull off baseball, inside out barrel path, spray contact off bat, 75 mph exit velocity. Heavier feet to field, long winding arm action, avg. accuracy to target, 64 mph arm across infield. Tends to sit back, avg. momentum through, accurate to target, 70 mph arm from outfield.
