Scouting Report

3/01/20

Position Profile: RHP/1B
Body: Taller frame with developing wiry strength.
Run: 4.65 H-1B
Hit: Square stance, body load, slight arm bar, circular bat path, barrel exit hitting zone early, best contact to pull side of field.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity.
IF Defense: Shows footwork with sure hands to field, longer arm action, accurate throws to bag.
IF Arm: 79 mph arm strength.

Delivery: Controlled side step into medium tuck and turn. Swings down mound. Lands inline to catcher.
Arm Action: Works well with long clean arm, OT slot, should continue to add velocity with strength and maturity.
FB: 79-80 mph. Varying action on fastball for strikes.
CB: 70-71 mph. Varying 12/6 – 11/5 shape with flashes of sharp break.
CH: 72-74 mph. Occasionally firm but shows good feel for zone.

8/11/19

6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; short rocker step, medium balance point, long arm swing, OT slot. Fastball was 78-80 mph with cutting action to plate. Inconsistent break on 11/5 curveball for strikes. 7.02 runner. Square stance, body load, stiff legs in swing, uphill scoop to contact, spray contact off bat, 79 mph exit velocity. Solid defender, fields routine, works around bag, playable arm for position, 73 mph arm strength across infield.

4/28/19

6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; short rocker step into medium turned balance point, long arm swing behind body, higher release point and would benefit from greater extension out front. Fastball was 79-81 mph with quality late cutting action for strikes. The breaking ball is sharp with high spin, late depth, and 12/6 shape. Has late sink and solid feel for changeup to arm-side of plate. 6.94 runner. Square stance, body load, flat slashy swing plane, rotational bat path through zone, hard pull ground ball and line drive contact, 78 mph exit velocity. Adequate fielder at first, makes routine plays, looks comfortable around bag receiving throws, 74 mph arm strength across field.
