PBR: Why did you choose Iowa Central CC?

CORSON: I chose Iowa Central because Coach Rick Pederson reminds me a lot of my High school coach, Jack Sole.  They both have a great mindset of winning and are committed to help their players become better players and better individuals.  I see a lot of those qualities through Coach P and the rest of the coaching staff there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

CORSON:  I was considering South Dakota State, Kirkwood CC and Harper CC.

PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?

CORSON: They first saw me play at Riverfront Stadium during my summer high school season, and they have seen me play more in showcases and in fall leagues.  Coach Pederson and I have been in contact since then.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?

CORSON: I expect to earn a spot and trying to help the team win and be successful.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

CORSON: Hands down, my parents have made the biggest impact on me as a player and as an individual.  They have always been supportive of me, and have helped point me in the right direction for success as I go to the next level.

PBR: What have you worked on/ improved since last year?

CORSON: One thing that I have improved on since last year is being more dominant with my off-speed pitches, and having more control with them

PBR: Who are some of the toughest competitors you have faced in Iowa?

CORSON: The toughest players I have pitched against are probably John Magnuson and Spencer Van Scoy.  Both of these guys are very aggressive at the plate and are very good hitters against any competition.

PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.

CORSON: The whole recruiting process was an interesting experience.  My advice for other recruits in my position would be to get your name out either through email or letter to coaches and/or schools that interest you as soon as you can.  There is a spot for everyone, and it's just a matter of finding the school that you want most.  Make your name known.
