PBR Program Preview: Sugar Salem

The 2023 High School Season is quickly approaching and as usual, our staff is excited for the upcoming Spring season. Programs across the state have goals and aspirations to finish the year in to lift the State Championship trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams and players across the state, as we preview many of the great programs throughout Idaho. We will take you right up to the first pitch of this season with these team previews and we'll continue providing coverage throughout the Spring.

+ Team Strengths:
We advanced to the semifinals in the State tournament last year. We will be returning 8 starters from that team including our top 3 pitchers. We will have a deep pitching staff this year! Our offense should be solid with both speed and power. Defensively will be very good as well.
+ Expectations for players within your program:
Expecting big things for each player on our roster this year. The following players had a great summer/fall with their prospective travel programs and we look forward to that experience carrying over to the High School season.

Tommy Woodcock – Showcased great at multiple PBR Idaho events and he was also invited to play at the Utah Tech & CSI team camps this Fall.

Dawson McInney – Showcased great at multiple PBR Idaho events. Played with Trosky American 2025 team this past summer in multiple high-level tournaments.

Will Chappell – Showcased great at multiple PBR Idaho events. Played with Trosky American 2025 team this past summer. Then played this Fall with GBG 2025. He was also invited to Utah Tech and CSI team camps this Fall.

Jackson Gardner – Showcased great at multiple PBR Idaho events and played with Trosky American. Played in the Fall with GBG 2025. Jack was also selected to play in multiple national tournaments.
+ Expectations for the 2023 Season:
Sugar Salem Baseball has never won a State Championship in program history. Our #1 goal this year is a State Championship!
