KY Player Of The Week March 18-23

The 2019 baseball season is underway, and the weather cooperated the first week of the season to allow a significant amount of baseball to be played in all parts of the state. Thus, we select our first PBR Kentucky Player of the Week this spring.
There were several worthy players nominated for the first weekly award this season, but one player’s numbers stood out, especially in the power department.
To say Woodford County uncommitted 2019 catcher Charlie Corum got off to a hot start last week would be an understatement. While there were other players with more hits than Corum collected for the week, none put up the home run numbers he did.
Corum went 6-for-15 with one double, four home runs, six RBIs, scored eight runs, and stole two bases in his stellar offensive week. Defensively, he also threw out two runners attempting to steal while being a workhorse behind the plate for Yellow Jackets.
For his standout performance on the field last week, Charlie Corum has been selected our first Player of The Week for the 2019 season.
