6-foot-1, 175-pound lean frame. Projectable. On the
mound, he used a long arm action and a high ¾ angle. He is a slight drop-and-drive type pitcher
who uses normal effort. Has a tall balance point and uphill shoulders. Lands hard with an
athletic finish. His fastball was 83-84 mph. Had a sharp
1/7 curveball (72-73) that showed low in the zone control. His changeup (74-77) shows
sinking action and in the zone control. Occasional cut on the changeup due to getting around it.
Thompson showed an uptick in velocity and his best breaking ball to date which really has swing-and-miss potential. The arrow is pointing up on the intriguing lefty.
