Scouting Report

Downs has flown under the radar far too long. He stood out at the Southeast unsigned Senior games and then again during the PBR Kentucky State Games. He has elite hands at the plate with serious bat to ball skills. This seems to translate into game play as all this young man does is hit and hit some more. Looks to be a corner Outfielder at the next level that will also be above average at First Base. There is plenty of power in the bat and more coming as he continues to add mass to his long athletic frame.

Body: 6-foot-3, 180-pound.

Hit: (LHH) Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a quick stride. Quick bat speed. Good extension on his finish, simple upward swing.

Power: , average 91.8 mph. 75.2 mph bat speed average. 24.2 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (OF) Sure hands, consistent footwork, natural exchange. Solid.  Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic.

Arm: 77 mph infield velocity. 84 mph outfield velocity. Quick arm action, high ¾ slot.
