Quinton Lanham RHP / Bullitt East, KY / 2018

10/29/17 - Max FB: 86, FB: 83-84, CB: 71-73, CH: 68-71
Long/lanky 6-foot-3, 168-pound RHP offers good projection. Arm shows some quickness through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball touched 86 and sat 83-84 consistently. Has room to improve secondary pitches. Curveball has short 12/6 action thrown for strikes, changeup shows slight cutting action at times (a product of getting around it).Lanham is intriguing with his frame and current velocity and certainly has the possibility of adding velocity moving forward.

Nick Casey RHP / Muhlenberg County , KY / 2018

7/12/17 - Max FB: 84, FB: 83-84, SL: 73-74, CH
6-foot-3, 179-pound RHP with lanky frame and big upside. Uses medium arm circle and works though a high-3/4 slot with normal effort, uptempo delivery with some quickness in arm, works quickly and attacks hitters aggressively. Pounds the strike zone with fastball/slider mix, shows ability to command fastball to both sides of the plate, slider shows late/sharp break, struck out 3 of 5 batters he faced (one looking on slider and two on FB). Should be watched closely for velocity gains. Good pitchability.

Tristen Helton RHP / Boyle, KY / 2018

6/14/17 - Max FB: 85, FB: 81-84, CB: 67-69
6-foot-4, 208-pound RHP, athletic frame with projection, good athlete, uses shorter arm action that can be deceptive, works through a high-3/4 to over the top slot, locates fastball well at the bottom of the zone with some tilt, curveball has solid 11/5 action with some sharpness and depth, showed ability to throw both pitches for strikes, worked a quick inning recording two infield pop ups and a fly ball out. Interesting mound prospect with ideal pitcher's frame and good athleticism as displayed by his 6.85 60 time at the event during position player workout.

Proctor Mercer RHP / Henry Clay, KY / 2018

10/14/17 - Max FB: 83, FB: 82-83, CB: 70-71, CH: 79-80
6-foot-3, 190-pound RHP, athletic frame with good projectability and some present lower half strength, uses a long arm circle and works through an over the top slot, occasional effort, fastball mostly straight, shows good feel for a 12/6 curveball with tight spin and some depth, changeup is straight and thrown with good arm speed but needs bigger velocity difference off fastball to be most effective. Add Mercer to the list of uncommitted 2018 RHP's with ideal frames and the potential to add velocity moving forward. Very intriguing mound prospect.

Nicholas Wooden RHP / Logan County, KY / 2018

Max FB: 84, FB: 80-83, CB: 70-72
6/15/16 - 6-foot, 140-pound RHP with slender and projectable frame, arm action is long and clean and works through a high-3/4 slot, loose arm, generates very easy velocity, fastball shows occasional good arm-side life, shows good feel for his curveball that has sharp 11/5 action and good depth when he doesn’t get around the pitch, hit a batter and struck out one (fastball looking) in his one inning of work. Wooden projects for more velocity and is certainly an arm to keep a close eye on in the 2018 class. It should be noted that Wooden has not been seen by the PBR Kentucky staff since June 2016.

Travis Simpson RHP / Male, KY / 2018

10/29/17 - Max FB: 83, FB: 81-82, CB: 69-70, CH: 73-76
6-foot-3, 175 pound RHP impressed with ability to throw three pitches for strikes and command the bottom of the zone. Fastball shows occasional arm-side run and sink, curveball has 11/5 shape located consistently at the bottom of the strike zone, changeup was one of the best of the event with sink and fade through the zone thrown with good arm speed. Works through a high-3/4 slot with minimal effort and long arm action. Simpson is a very intriguing RHP with good upside and pitchability.

Sean Gibbons RHP / Henry Clay, KY / 2018

10/14/17 - Max FB: 83, FB: 80-82, CB: 68-69, CH: 76-79
6-foot-3, 200-pound RHP. Has current strength in frame with room for additional development. Uses long arm action with slight stab on the back side, very loose arm that works through an over the top slot with normal effort, projects for additional velocity. Strike thrower with good pitchability. Fastball has some tilt located in bottom half of zone, has excellent feel for downer curveball, good feel for changeup that has some late fade but will benefit from bigger velocity difference off the fastball. Combination of size, arm action and pitchability make Gibbons a prospect with good upside.

Nick Carroll RHP / Trinity, KY / 2018

8/20/17 - Max FB: 84, FB: 81-83, CB: 66-68, CH: 73-74
6-foot, 165-pound RHP with athletic frame and room for physical development. Long/loose arm with quickness works through a high-3/4 slot, crossfire type delivery, fastball mostly straight topped at 84, gets around curveball at times leaving it up with slight lateral movement, changeup was best secondary pitch on this day as he shows good feel for the pitch with good velocity difference off the fastball. Carroll's quick arm could lead to more velocity in the near future.
