2027 2B Ashton Napier (South Laurel HS) is coming off a productive junior campaign, putting together a strong season at the plate while helping lead North Laurel to its first 49th District Championship in seven years. Napier hit .351 with 34 hits in 97 at-bats, collecting 10 doubles, a triple, four home runs, and 23 RBIs along the way. His performance earned All-49th District Team and Tournament Team honors, while also being named 13th Region Player of the Week twice throughout the season. Now transferring across the county to South Laurel, Napier enters his senior year with plenty of room to continue developing, as he will graduate high school at just 17 years old.

At 5'9" 168 lbs, Napier brings an athletic frame with a smooth offensive approach, working from a vertical stance into a controlled load and steady path through the zone. He has shown the ability to impact the baseball to all parts of the field with a 93 mph exit velocity, while also displaying athleticism on the dirt with an 84 mph infield velocity and a 6.94 60-yard dash. Defensively, Napier shows good range at shortstop with smooth arm action across the infield, giving him versatility around the field. As a high academic prospect with college coursework under his belt, Napier brings both on-field production and plenty of projection to the table. With another year of development ahead, the uncommitted 2027 infielder is an intriguing name to follow heading into the spring.
