Classes 4A, B, and C begin their semi-final matchups tomorrow, and the winners will get a day off on Friday, before playing the final games on Saturday.

In Class C, Elizabeth enters as the No. 1 overall seed after posting an impressive 23 and 5 record in the regular season. They will face off against No. 4 seed Claiborne Christian, who finished 10 and 9 in the regular season, at 4:00 PM on Thursday. Keep an eye on Claiborne Christian’s Griffin Olinde, the 2017 infielder provides serious pop in the middle of the Christian Claiborne lineup. The winner of that game will matchup with the winner of the No. 2 seed Downsville and No. 3 seed Simpson matchup, which will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday. Downsville finished the regular season at 12 and 8, while Simpson finished the year at 15 and 8.

Class B action kicks off at 4:00 PM on Thursday as well, with No. 2 Glenmora and No. 6 Fairview. Glenmora finished the year at 18 and 5, while Fairview finished the year with a 13 and 5 overall record, lead by 2016 RHP/INF Brennan Maddox. The nightcap at 7:00 PM will feature the No. 1 seed Grace Christian and No. 5 seed Anacoco. Grace Christian had an impressive regular season finishing 24 and 6, which included an upset of national powerhouse and two-time defending 5A champs, Barbe.  2017 OF Josh Gann had a solid year for Grace Christian, and they will need all hands on deck as Anacoco is likely to send out Louisiana State recruit, Will Reese. Reese is a lanky 6-foot-4 right-hander with a long, loose arm action that has run his fastball up to the low 90s. Anacoco finished the regular season with a 13 and 7 record.

Action in 4A kicks off at 4:00 PM as well with No. 2 seed St. Michael and No. 3 seed West Ouachita (20 and 7 overall record). St. Michael finished the year at 20 and 7, rolling out a quality lineup that includes Nolan Tiersch, Ross Scelfo and Baton Rouge CC recruit, Michael Smith. West Ouachita is led by Louisiana State recruit, Zach Watson, who is currently ranked No. 2 in Louisiana’s 2016 class. Watson possess explosive speed, and a short, compact right-handed swing, and has seen significant draft buzz this spring.

The nightcap will feature the No. 1 seed Teurlings Catholic, who is also the No.1 team in PBR’s Power 25, and the No. 5 seed Breaux Bridge. Breaux Bridge is led by Northwestern State recruit, 2017 catcher Tyler Thibodeaux, and finished the year with an impressive 22 and 4 record. Teurlings Catholic finished the year an astounding 27 and 4, outscoring their opponents by a 234 to 63 margin. Nick Webre, a Louisiana State recruit, Hayden Cantrelle, a Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, and Austin Kirkpatrick, a LSU-Eunice recruit, give Teurlings Catholic a potent lineup.
