The 2017 Prep Baseball Report Future Games has come and gone, as 14 uncommitted underclass prospects for the state of Louisiana descended onto Grand Park in Westfield, IN for the annual, prestigious event. Over 250 college coaches from across the country were on-hand to watch the top uncommitted prospects in the Prep Baseball Report coverage area compete over a 4-day span.

In the coming days our scouting staff will dive deeper into the weekend with complete analysis of the 14 Louisiana prospects who represented the state on one of the nation’s largest stages. Today, we will look at the position players who represented the state in the 2017 PBR Future Games.

Position Players

+ Collier Cranford, SS, Zachary HS (LA), 2019
Athletic 6-foot, 162-pound frame, wiry build, room to add strength and size. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, quick, clean exchanges showing instincts and feel for infield play. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with quality arm strength and carry on throws across the infield, posting positional velocity of 86 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, short stride and balance throughout the swing. Line-drive type approach with fluid rhythm, simple, direct path to the baseball with bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 82 mph. Showed quality athleticism, posting a 6.84 60-yard dash time.

+ Damon Fountain, OF/RHP, St. Louis HS (LA), 2019
Athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame, wiry build, long levers, plenty of room to project. Quality athlete with long strides and fluidness when running that posted a 6.75 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, short stride and quality balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level to slightly uphill path, strength at contact and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 97 mph. Athletic defender with average hands, fluid footwork, and clean transfers. Long, loose arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy, and plus carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 90 mph.

+ Clint Hargrave, C, Ouachita Christian HS (LA), 2019
Athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame, strong, durable build. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and quick, clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 76 mph and a pop time of 2.01-seconds. Showed off quality defensive skills all weekend, presenting a strong, firm target, receives the baseball quietly, and showed quality blocking skills. Right-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, smooth load, leg kick and quality lower half. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, slightly uphill path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 89 mph. Found consistent barrel all weekend during live game action, handling velocity with fluid, aggressive swings. Also posted 7.48 60-yard dash.

+ Cade Hart, 3B/SS, Calvary Baptist HS (LA), 2020
Athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame, strong build, room to add strength. Athletic defender with average hands, fluid footwork, and cleans exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with carry and accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 83 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from a crouch, strong lower half, short stride, solid load, and quality balance. Line-drive type approach showing solid rhythm with short, level path, and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 80 mph. Also posted a 7.47 60-yard dash time.

+ Peyton Lejeune, 3B, Teurlings Catholic HS (LA), 2019
Strong, athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, and plays through balls athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with carry and accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 82 mph. Switch-hitter that hits from open, balanced, athletic setup, smooth leg lift load, short stride and excellent balance. Line-drive, gap to gap type hitter with smooth, fluid rhythm, strength at contact, level path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 87 mph from left side and 89 mph on right side. Also posted a 7.35 60-yard dash.

+ Davis Meche, SS, Barbe HS (LA), 2020
Athletic 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame, room to add strength. One of the top 2020 prospects in Louisiana, high-energy, hardnosed player with advanced feel for the game. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, plays through balls athletically, and shows advanced understanding of infield play. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 84 mph. Left-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, short stride and excellent balance. Line-drive type hitter with fluid rhythm, short, level path, advanced feel to hit and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 87 mph. Also posted a 7.11 60-yard dash.

+ Alex Milazzo, C, Zachary HS (LA), 2019
Medium 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame, athletic build. Premium, elite defender with soft hands, quick, athletic footwork, above average receiving ability and quality blocking skills. Extremely quick and clean transfers with short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and plus carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 82 mph and a pop time of 1.86-seconds. Showed off his big arm strength all weekend, keeping runners honest with lightning quick back-pick attempts, and cutting down the only steal attempt against all weekend with consistent strong, accurate throws.  Right-handed hitter that hits from an athletic setup, smooth load, leg kick and quality lower half. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, short  path, advanced approach and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 90 mph. Also posted a 6.93 60 yard dash.

+ Tre' Morgan, 1B, Brother Martin HS (LA), 2020
Athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame, athletic build, long limbs, room to project. Fluid athletic runner that posted a 7.16 60-yard dash. Left-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, smooth load, short stride, solid lower half and balance. Line drive, pull type hitter with fluid rhythm, flat path that flashed ability to create natural life showing strength at contact and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 92 mph. Quality defender with soft hands, developing footwork and above average athleticism for his position. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with arm strength and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 81 mph.

+ Jace Pendarvis, OF/RHP, Central Private HS (LA), 2019
Athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame, strong build. Quality athlete that posted a 6.94 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load and short stride. Line-drive type hitter with rhythm, short path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of  87 mph. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges and fields athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws producing a positional velocity of 90 mph.

+ Cameron Pradia, OF/SS, St. Louis HS (LA), 2019
Lean 5-foot-9, 165-pound frame, athletic build, room to add strength and size. Versatile athlete that can play multiple positions, shows that athleticism by posting a 6.86 60-yard dash. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges and plays through balls athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 84 mph. Left-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, short stride, quality lower half and balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, short, level path, and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 91 mph.
