Future Games recap: Pitching Video Analysis

This past weekend, August 4th through 6th, eight players represented the state of Louisiana at the prestigious PBR Future Games powered by Under Armour at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. Over 150 college coaches from across the United States were in attendance for the premier Underclass Event in the country.

The eight Louisiana players played on Team Select, which was comprised of Arkansas, Kansas, Florida, and Louisiana. Today we will take a look at video from the two pitching prospects representing the state of Louisiana.

Pitchers

+ Will Ripoll, RHP, John Curtis HS(2018)

A 5-foot-11, 171-pound right-handed pitcher with an average, athletic frame. Short, loose arm action into a high-3/4 release with quick arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, lands square and finishes upright. The recent Louisiana State commit struggled with command during his first inning of work, but would eventually regroup, striking out six batters in two innings of work, allowing 0 runs. Fastball sat 85-87 mph with late run and command. Breaking ball showed 10/4 shape with late break and fastball arm speed at 74-76 mph. Flashed a quality changeup with fastball arm speed and fade action at 79-80 mph.

+ Seth Traweek, RHP, Ouachita Christian HS(2019)

A 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed pitcher with a long, athletic, projectable frame. Long, loose arm action into high-3/4 release with quick arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, and finishes athletic. Fastball sat 83-86 mph touching 87 mph with solid angle and life, also stuck fastballs on the inner half to right-handed hitters frequently. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape with solid spin, occasional sharp break and fastball arm speed at 72-74 mph.
