Future Prospect Showcase: Stats Breakdown

The Future Prospects Showcase took place on Saturday September 7th at Dunham High School. The open event saw 15+ 2024 & 2025 prospects from across the state of Louisiana.

We begin our instant analysis from Saturday’s event with a look at some top statistical performers. We measured six separate categories and we’ll detail the leaders in each category below.

5+ players turned in sub-7.60 second 60s on Saturday. Presley Courville (Barbe HS, LA) turned in the top 60-yard dash time of the event, posting a 7.51-second time. While Thomas Collins (Erath HS, LA), Jonathan Dartez (Vermilion Catholic HS, LA), Jayce Lantier (Teurlings Catholic HS, LA) and Cooper Winchester (St. Pauls HS, LA) all turned in sub-7.60 seconds posting times of 7.54, 7.58 and 7.58-seconds respectively.

Jed Gadir (Southside HS, LA) led the way on the mound, as the 5-foot-7 right-hander showed off a quality three-pitch mix, and ran his fastball up to an event best 71 mph. While Wyatt Chenevert (Catholic(BR) HS, LA) and Jadon Soirez (Erath HS, LA) also showed well on Saturday, both running their fastball up to 70 mph.

Cooper Winchester (St. Pauls HS, LA) led the exit velocity leaderboard from Saturday, posting a 79 mph off a tee. While Thomas Collins (Erath HS, LA), Jonathan Dartez (Vermilion Catholic HS, LA) and Sam Gadir (Southside HS, LA) also flashed solid strength and bat speed, posting a 75 mph exit velocity. 

Blaide Navarre (Barbe HS, LA) showed off arm strength on Saturday, posting an event best 71 mph positional velocity from the infield. While Jude Weller (West Feliciana HS, LA) also found himself at the top of the leaderboard, posting a positional velocity of 70 mph.

Cooper Winchester (St. Pauls HS, LA) topped the leaderboard with an event best 75 mph positional velocity from the outfield, while Jude Weller (West Feliciana HS, LA) checked-in right behind him with an 70 mph positional velocity. 

Cooper Winchester (St. Pauls HS, LA) posted an event best 66 mph positional velocity for catchers, while also posting an event best 2.18-second pop time. While Cooper Smith (Dunham HS, LA) found himself tied atop the leaderboard, also posting a 66 mph positional velocity, as well as a 2.36-second pop time.
