Inside the Rankings Class of 2022: Catchers

With the recent release of our Updated Class of 2022 State Rankings, our scouting staff took a deeper dive into the prospects in the 2022 class. By position, we will comb through the list, highlighting some of the top talent in each class beginning today with catchers.

Leading the way for 2022 catchers is Louisiana State recruit No. 3 Ethan Frey (Rosepine HS). The physical right-handed hitting backstop flashes strength in the swing with athleticism and rapidly improving catch and throw skills. Following Frey No. 8 Ashton Fuselier (Barbe HS), a solid framed catcher with room to add strength. Fuselier is a high-end defender with strong catch and throw skills. Behind him is another long framed catcher with strength in No. 13 Carson Carey (Airline HS). Below we will look deeper into the 2022 catching class.
