Simon has long been known for his stellar defense up the middle of the field, but the Louisiana State recruit has made some physical gains this offseason that could prove to be beneficial at this weekend's Super 60. He has gained 20 pounds since last season and it showed in a scrimmage last weekend when he hit a loud home run to his pull side. He has also been 88-91 with his fastball and brings big-game experience to the mound. 

7/19/16 A 5-foot-9, 135-pound infielder and right-handed pitcher with a medium, athletic frame. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and quick, clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 70 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, smooth load, short stride, solid lower half and balance. Line-drive type hitter with fluid rhythm, short path, solid approach and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 75 mph.  Also posted a 7.5 60 yard dash. Right-handed pitcher with short, loose arm action into high-3/4 release with solid arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, falls off to third base, lands square and finishes athletic. Fastball sat 76-77 mph with slight run and control. Breaking ball showed 10/4 shape, sharp break and near fastball arm speed at 65-67 mph. Also showed a changeup with ASR action and near fastball arm speed at 71-72 mph.
