North Louisiana Open: Stats Breakdown

Trey Sofio
Louisiana Scouting Director

The North Louisiana Open took place on Saturday August 20, at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA.

2018 INF/RHP Luke Honeycutt (West Ouachita HS, LA) showed legitimate two-way ability with a strong, explosive left-handed swing and a clean arm action running his fastball up to 86 mph.

2017 OF Tanner Wiegand (Rosepine HS, LA) was an unknown heading into Saturday, but don’t expect that to last long. Wiegand posted a blazing 6.60 60 yard dash, threw 85 mph from the outfield, and took a quality round of batting practice.

2017 RHP Austin Booth (West Monrow HS, LA) opened eyes as well on Saturday. He ran his fastball up to 86 mph and showed outstanding feel for a 4-pitch mix, spinning the baseball very well.

A complete recap of the event will be coming in the following weeks.
