PBR Louisiana Player and Pitcher of the Week (Week 6)

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

Week 6 of the Louisiana High School Baseball Season is complete.  Familiar faces continued to shine and newcomers also began to make a name for themselves.  Below, we highlight our Mizuno Baseball Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week from week five of the season (03/28/22-04/03/22).

We will follow up tomorrow with our 6th week edition of "Diamond Notes", where we take a look at some of the other top performances from around the state. Please note, that all of the below performances are submitted by high school coaches.  To submit your player(s) for next week's edition of Diamond Notes, please email Alex Armand ([email protected]) with the player's name, class, position, and any relevant statistics from the week.  We are fired up for what's in store in Week 7 and the rest of the season!

Co-Players of the Week

-2022 Jordan Trapani (St. Thomas Aquinas H.S.)

Trapani enjoyed a monster week at the plate for St. Thomas, as the Falcons won all three of their games.  The Nicholls State signee hit at a .833 clip for the week (10-12), with three doubles, one triple, one homerun, and fourteen runs batted in.

-2024 Trey Hawsey (West Monroe H.S.)

The former PBR Future Gamer has started to get hot at the plate and has helped the Rebels reel off fourteen straight wins.  Hawsey went six for twelve (.500) for the week, with two doubles, two homeruns, and eight runs batted in.  He also earned two saves on the mound.

Pitcher of the Week

-2022 Noah Simon (Destrehan H.S.)

Simon has been having a stellar senior campaign for the Wildcats and has cemented himself as one of the top uncommitted southpaw's in the senior class.  For the week, he made two starts and earned the win in each.  He tossed eleven innings, and gave up three hits and zero earned runs, with three walks and eighteen strikeouts.
