Player Of the Week: OF Logan Stevens

Tulane recruit, 2018 Logan Stevens (John Curtis HS, LA) has been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Louisiana Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance at the plate for the Patriots last week.

Stevens finished the week hitting .636 with two triples, four runs batted in and three walks.

For his efforts, Stevens has been named the Prep Baseball Report Louisiana Player of the Week for the week of April 16 – April 22.

Scouting Report

6/20/17 Athletic, strong 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame. Solid defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange and plays through balls athletically. Long arm action into ¾ release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 85 mph. Left-handed hitter that hits from a balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, solid lower half and balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level to uphill path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 88 mph. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher with a long, loose arm action, with quickness into a high-3/4 release and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, lands square and finishes upright. Fastball sat 83-84 with slight run and command. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape with solid spin at 75-76 mph. Flashed changeup with slight sink at 78-79 mph.
