The Prospect ID Showcase took place on Sunday September 4, at St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Hammond, LA. The open event saw 35 prospects in the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes.
LHP Destin Dotson (Scotlandville HS)showed a clean arm action, easy effort and quick arm speed running his fastball up to 85 mph with life on the end. The 6-foot-6 2018 graduate is surely one to keep an eye in the coming months.
C Cade Blanchard (Dutchtown HS) showed elite level arm strength from the catcher postion with an 82 mph positional velocity. One of the better arm strength catchers PBR-Louisiana has seen thus far, Blanchard has easy carry on throws, popping consistent 1.96 to 2.05.
RHP Bart Lane Thomas (Walke HS) opened eyes on the mound, as he sat 84-86 mph with command, working with great tempo and rhythm. As well, flashed ability to spin quality breaking ball with spin and depth
