The Scouting Report:
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound outfielder with a medium, athletic frame. A quality overall player that plays extremely hard with the ability to not only be a solid defender, but also give headaches to the opposition on the base paths.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?
Magee: I expected recruiting to be interesting and relaxing. Some parts of the process can be very stressful.

PBR: Did location or distance from home play a factor in your decision?
Magee: The distance didn't play a factor. When I went to Alabama Southern I felt like I was at home.

PBR: Where did the college you chose first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Magee: I met the coaching staff at a workout. Since then I have talk to them every other day. I have developed a strong relationship with the coaches.

PBR: Who is the best player you have faced in your state, and why?
Magee: The best player I have faced is Kolton Kendrick, he can flat out hit. He hit two home runs at our place when we faced them.

PBR: At what point in your career did you realize you were an elite player and became serious about taking your game to the next level?
Magee:  I became serious about my career after my sophomore season. I didn't play my freshman year, but when I came back I had an All-State year. That summer I started going to showcases.

PBR: What were you looking for out of a college program to continue your baseball career at?
Magee:  I was looking for a school that I could feel at home with. A winning program, and a team who had the same goals as me.

PBR: What is your best attribute as a baseball player and how does that transfer onto the field for your team?
Magee: My best attributes are that I'm a hard worker, I play hard and fast, and I'm going to do my best to help my team win.

PBR: What part of your game needs the biggest improvement, why, and what will you do to improve it?
Magee:  I am going to work on every part of my game. It's possible that I will make a transition to second base in college. I want to learn to be more versatile.

PBR: What advice would you give to young baseball players striving to get where you are?
Magee: The biggest thing I could tell the young players is listen to your coaches, work hard, and play hard because you never know who is watching.

PBR: What do you do in the offseason to keep yourself in baseball shape and prepare for the upcoming season?
Magee: I played football, so I used my football workouts to prepare me for baseball. Along with cage routines, and summer games.

PBR: What do you like most about the college you committed to and what were the key factors in making your decision?
Magee: The biggest thing I liked about Alabama southern was the family atmosphere. I fell in love with the campus, and the team had the same goals as me. I want to be apart of something thing special.

PBR: What other schools were on your short list before you made your final decision?
Magee:  I also had offers from Holmes CC, Wharton CC, Alcorn State, and Grambling State.

PBR: Preview your high school season for us. How do you feel your team will be? What are your expectations and goals?
Magee: I'm very confident in my team this year. We are going to take the games one by one. My goals are a district championship, and a state championship run.
