Senior Games: Pitchers Analysis

The Senior Games took place on Saturday, September 30th, at Nicholls State University, in Thibodeaux, LA. The event saw thirty 2018 prospects perform in front of several college coaches and the Prep Baseball Report scouting staff.

Reese Barrilleaux RHP / 1B / St. John, LA / 2018Rankings StateRank: 93 / POS: 21
Athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame, strong build. Short arm stroke into high-3/4 release with smooth rhythm and drop and drive type delivery. Works down the mound with level shoulders, landing in-line at front foot strike, finishes falling slightly to first base side. Fastball sat 80-83 mph showing solid downhill angle and control. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape, near fastball arm speed and late break at 70-72 mph. |
Matthew Barthelemy RHP / 2B / Belle Chasse, LA / 2018Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 9
Athletic 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame. Solid athlete running a 6.87 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher that works with a slow, fluid rhythm and high- ¾ release and regular effort in delivery. Works down mound with in-line direction and level shoulders, landing square and finishing athletically falling slightly to first base. Fastball sat 84-86 mph, touching 87 mph with good angle and command, received multiple swing and misses. Breaking ball showed 11/5-shape and solid depth, thrown with near fastball arm speed at 71-74 mph. Change up showed slight fading action at 75-76 mph. |

Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, lands square and finishes athletic. Fastball sat 77-79 mph, touching 80 mph with good angle when commanded. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape with solid depth, gradual break and near fastball arm speed at 60-63 mph. Also showed a changeup with near fastball arm speed, sinking action and solid control at 64-65 mph. |
Cameron Cluney OF / RHP / St. Paul's , LA / 2018Long limbed 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame with room for added strength. Right-handed pitcher throwing from high-3/4 release with long arm action and regular effort in delivery. Smooth rhythm with level shoulders, in-line direction, landing square, finishing in an athletic position. Fastball sat 78-82 mph and commanded for strike. Breaking ball showed 11/5-shape with developing action and spin at 65-67 mph. Change up was thrown at near fastball arm speed a 68-70 mph. |
