Stock Watch: Unsigned Senior Infielders

Today, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana takes a look at three underclass prospects that have significantly increased their stock in the recent past. Throughout the spring and summer months, our scouting staff has been on the road scouting high school and legion games, as well as select ball tournaments and its own summer event schedule.

Let’s dive into the underclass standouts featured in this week’s Stock Watch:

Cameron Daigle SS / RHP / Brusly, LA / 2018

Small 5-foot-9, 130-pound frame, with room for added strength. Outfielder with average hands, solid footwork, clean exchanges while playing through ball athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws and solid arm strength, produced a positional velocity of 87 mph. Ran a 7.0 60-yard dash. Defenderer with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges while in athletic fielding position. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws, recorded a positional velocity of 84 mph. Right-handed hitter hitting from tall, athletic setup with high hands.  Smooth, simple, leg lift landing slightly open. Line-drive type approach with level path, producing exit velocity of 77 mph.

 

 

Rhett Hebert 2B / Zachary, LA / 2018

Medium, athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hitting from tall, open, athletic setup with high hands. Simple smooth load, short stride and solid balance. Fluid rhythm with line-drive type approach, level path and solid bat speed producing an exit velocity of 86 mph. Infielder with decent hands, slow footwork, clean exchanges while playing through baseball athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws, recording a positional velocity of 81 mph. Showed athleticism running a 7.01 60-yard dash.

 

 

Scott Jones 2B / Sulphur , LA / 2018

Athletic 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame, strong build. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, short stride and explosive lower half. Line-drive, gap to gap type hitter with exceptional rhythm, short and level path, strength at contact and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 91 mph. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with some accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph. Also posted a 6.90 60-yard dash.

 

 

Connor Simon SS / Lafayette, LA / 2018

Athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame, lean build with room to add strength. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 81 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, smooth load, short stride, quality lower half and balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level path with extension and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 84 mph. Also posted a 6.79 60-yard dash.

 

 

Frankie Timphony 3B / Holy Cross, LA / 2018

Average 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame, medium, athletic build. Left-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, smooth load, leg kick and solid lower half. Gap to gap, fluid rhythm, creates quality extension, and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 83 mph. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and quick, clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph. Also posted a 7.15 60-yard dash.
