Uncommitted Spotlight - 2021 William Perkins
December 16, 2020
Our post event coverage of the 2020 Louisiana All-State Games continues today with another edition of "Uncommitted Spotlight". In this edition, we take a look at a physical, athletic 2021 OF who had a standout performance at this year's Louisiana All-State Games, and will be a prospect that will not be on the market much longer as we get closer to the start of the high school season.
2021 OF William Perkins (Sterlington H.S.)
Physical, athletic 5’11” 187 lbs. frame with room to add more strength. The RHH starts from an open, athletic stance, using a toe tap load. Strong top hand, direct bat path, with excellent extension. Fires his back hip aggressively while maintaining balance throughout his swing. Stays anchored into the ground with his lower half, showed gap to gap power, posting a max exit velocity of 94 mph. Advanced footwork, good reads, and accurate throws with backspin and carry from the OF that resulted in a 92 mph positional velocity. Really good runner as well, as he posted a 6.78 in the 60. At this point in the recruiting process, it is rare to find a senior with the combination of physical tools and polish that Perkins presents. He will be a key member of what will be another strong Sterlington H.S. team that finished in the top 30 in the country in 2019.
