Uncommitted Spotlight: 2025 Casey McCoy

Athletic 6'0" 170 lbs. frame with some present physicality.  The uncommitted shortstop has had a jam up sophomore campaign for Dutchtown, who usually doesn't have many underclassmen starting on the varsity.  On the infield, McCoy is a confident defender.  He presents a quiet glove out early and out front before using soft hands to receive the ball.  McCoy's also shows a good arm across the infield (86 mph) with backspin and carry.  At the plate, we saw him hit in the leadoff spot for the Griffins and he took competitive at-bats each time up, showing good strike zone awareness and bat to ball skills.  He's definitely increased his stock this spring and should be a guy that a lot of college recruiters have circled to see this summer.
