At the end of May, the annual Underclass Trials was held at St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Hammond, LA. Today, we look at a more in-depth analysis from the underclass outfielders in attendance at the event.

+ Preston Canale, OF, Fontainebleau, 2020
Medium 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. Right-handed hitter that hits from tall, athletic setup, with no load and short stride. Opposite field type approach with short path, developing bat speed and late rhythm, produced exit velocity of 70 mph. Defender with developing hands and footwork with long exchanges. Long arm action into high-¾ release with accuracy on throws and developing arm strength, recording a positional velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.5 60-yard dash.

Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, currently ranked No. 2 in Louisiana’s 2020 class, No. 67 Overall. Long, athletic 6-foot-5, 195-pound frame. Switch hitter that hits from athletic, balanced setup, with short stride and solid balance. Gap to gap type approach with slight uphill path with strength to pull side, producing an exit velocity of 84 mph. Solid defender with average hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges while playing through balls athletically. Loose arm action into 3/4 release with inconsistent accuracy and quality arm strength, posting a positional velocity of 88 mph from outfield and 82 mph from infield. Posted a 7.26 60-yard dash time.
