Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Five Available '15s

As the 2015 spring regular season is getting set to wrap up, numerous high school seniors in the state of Louisiana find themselves unsigned heading into the summer. Today we take a look at five players that may not be heading to major division-1 universities at this time, but certainly would be nice additions to a college program.

+LHP, Joseph Gennero, Mandeville HS(2015)
A 5-foot-9, 170-pound left-hander with a small, athletic frame. Simple, repeatable delivery with quality arm speed out of a high-3/4 release. Fastball sits 80-82 mph and can touch 84 with occasional life. Breaking ball lacks big velocity(60-62), but shows tight spin and quality depth. Will also flash a quality changeup with arm speed and deception. Although he lacks in velocity and does not possess an ideal frame, he consistently competes in the strike zone and attacks hitters.

+C, Trent Forshag, Jesuit HS(2015)
A 5-foot-10, 180-pound catcher from Jesuit HS. Average, strong frame with a strong lower half. Experienced player that displays adequate receiving skills, with stiffness in hands on occasion, quality blocking ability and near college average arm strength. Right-handed hitter with short, simple stroke, flat bat path, keeps hands inside well and uses a gap-to-gap approach. Lacks in flashy tools, but has shown to be a solid player over a three year stretch for Jesuit HS

+C/RHP, Chris Turpin, Holy Cross HS(2015)
A 6-foot-1, 185-pound catcher with a strong, athletic frame. An overall raw catching product that shows near college average receiving skills and blocking skills with quality arm strength and outstanding carry on throws. Right-handed hitter with simple swing that lacks in bat speed, but shows occasional strength at contact. Also a right-handed pitcher with a low to mid-80s fastball that attacks the strike zone.

+RHP/INF, Jace Nini, Shaw HS(2015)
A 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed pitcher with a small, athletic frame. Strike-thrower that repeats delivery well out of a low-3/4 arm slot. Fastball sits 82-86 mph with sink and run. Displays a quality breaking ball with depth, spin, and late break. As an infielder he shows soft hands, instincts and adequate foot speed. Right-handed hitter with near college average bat speed and quality bat path that consistently finds the barrel.

+RHP, Myles Blount, Jesuit HS(2015)
A 6-foot-5, 215-pound right-handed pitcher with long, projectable frame. Simple, in-line delivery with adequate arm speed into a high-3/4 release. Displays a low-80s fastball that got up to 86 mph in a relief appearance earlier this spring. Shows a feel to spin a breaking ball with low-70s velocity and 10/4 shape.
