As the state of Louisiana was getting pounded by rain for what felt like a full week, tournaments struggled to get games in due to poor field conditions. Once they got going Prep Baseball Report Louisiana attended several different games over this past weekend. On Friday night, St. Amant HS shocked the No. 1 ranked Jesuit Blue Jays in walk off fashion in the Jay Patterson Shootout.

On Saturday, No. 19 St. Paul’s HS knocked off No. 6 Sam Houston HS as St. Paul’s held off Sam Houston in the last inning that had its fair share of fireworks and drama. No. 11 Zachary then defeated St. Paul’s HS with an outstanding pitching matchup between Ole Miss Signee and No. 17 in the '15 class, Micah McHugh for Zachary and Southeastern Louisiana signee and No. 13 in the '15 class, Carlo Graffeo for St. Paul’s.

Sunday saw another ranked matchup between No. 7 John Curtis HS and No. 20 Holy Cross HS with John Curtis blowing the game open late on a Myles Washington grand slam which made the score misleading as to what type of game it was. The following are some notes on players from the games that were seen this weekend.

Prep Baseball Report Louisiana will be hosting its first event on May 25th at St. Thomas Aquinas HS in Hammond, LA. The Underclass Trials is an open event for 2017 and 2018 graduates and will be an identifier for the Top Prospects games, which is an invite only event, as well as the PBR Future Games Powered by Under Armour. The Future Games is the premier national scouting event for underclassmen with over 100 college coaches in attendance last year.
