Impact Scout Day: Quick Hits
June 7, 2024
Gonzales, LA - The Impact Scout Day, our third Scout Day of the summer, was held on June 5, 2024, at St. Amant High School. All players in attendance went through a pro-style workout that included running a laser-timed 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, batting practice using Trackman, defensive evalutaions, and more. Pitchers finished off the event by throwing bullpens, where they were able to receive their numbers and metrics off of Trackman, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement and much more.
Today, we take a look at some of the standout performers from Wednesday's event. Please continue to check back over the coming days, as we'll release additional post-event coverage of the 2024 Impact Scout Day.

+ 2025 1B/3B Wyatt Stafford (Ascension Christian HS)
6'1" 180 lbs. frame with a strong lower-half. Stafford unloaded on several balls during his BP round on Wednesday, showing brute strength, especially to the pull-side with exit velocities up to 93.5 mphm, which was an event-best. For a more physical prospect, he's a pretty good runner, as he posted a 7.05 laser-timed 60 yard dash. Stafford is definitely worth a look this summer for programs looking for a right-handed hitting corner infielder.

Physical @PBR_Uncommitted corner INF. Flashed pull-side 🧃 during BP at yesterday’s #ImpactScoutDay. Also, posted a 7.05 laser-timed 60 as well. #BeSeen@impactsportsla | @AlexArmandPBR pic.twitter.com/apeveD8JsR
+ 2026 MIF Landon Blanchard (St. Amant HS)
Blanchard was one of the prospects that we were looking forward to seeing on Wednesday, after a really nice sophomore campaign for the Gators that earned him All-District honors. The 5'11" 160 lbs. middle-infielder recorded a 6.91 laser-timed 60 and took a quality round of infield with an accurate arm across the diamond. His BP round would be called "boring" by some, but for us, it was really good. From an upright and balanced stance, Blanchard takes an inside-out path through the ball and works flat through extension with a one-handed finish. He showed advanced bat-to-ball skills, as he peppered nearly every pitch up the middle and to the opposite field gap. We're excited to get another look at him at next week's Top Prospect Games at Louisiana-Lafayette, as he looks the part of one of the better uncommitted middle-infielders in the state's 2026 class.

Simple & repeatable LHH stroke. Worked short to long yesterday and sprayed line drives to all fields. Another good @PBR_Uncommitted prospect to see at next week’s #LATopProspectGames. #BeSeen@impactsportsla pic.twitter.com/g2IIIjJPef
+ 2026 RHP Kason Johnson (Dutchtown HS)
6'2" 175 lbs. durable frame. It was easy to see on Wednesday why Johnson had a successful spring for the Griffins, which ended with him logging 35 IP with a 2.00 ERA. He works through a controlled delivery, before using a compact arm stroke to deliver the ball from a slightly higher 3/4 slot. Johnson showed command of his 83-84 mph FB to both sides of the plate, while mixing in a solid 72-75 mph SL, and his feel for a 73-74 mph late-fading CH gives him a three-pitch mix that he can land for strikes in any count. Uncommitted for now, he's another good arm in the state's 2026 class to get out and see this summer.

Logged 35 IP this spring for the Griffins with a 2.00 ERA. SL had good shape & he showed really good feel for a CH with late fade. #BeSeen

+ 2025 OF/LHP Thomas Temple (West Feliciana HS)
A "QB1" on the gridiron in the fall, Temple had one of the better all-around showings at Wednesday's Impact Scout Day. He's got a physical 5'11" 185 lbs. frame and he's a solid runner as well, as he clocked in at a 6.87 for his laser-timed 60 yard dash. His arm was accurate and strong from the outfield, up to 87 mph. At the plate, he uses his strong lower-half well, as he rotates aggressively against the ground to create force and keeps a tight turn to contact, while working uphill through extension. He drove most of his balls from up the middle and to the pull-side during his BP round with exit velocities up to 90.8 mph. Temple is another good uncommitted 2025 to monitor moving forward.

Nice showing from the @PBR_Uncommitted OF/QB1 at our #ImpactScoutDay. Posted a 6.87 laser-timed 60 & was up to 87 mph from the OF. Drove several balls to the pull-side with a 90.8 mph max EV. #BeSeen@impactsportsla pic.twitter.com/NSdllniW66
+ 2026 MIF Colton Morris (Ascension Christian HS)
Athletic and lean 5'10" 160 lbs. frame with plenty of room to add strength. Morris finished Wednesday's event as one of the bigger winners on the day. He posted a 6.84 laser-timed 60 yard dash and we could see that improving even more in the future. Morris also took a solid round of infield, showcasing clean actions and a strong arm across the diamond, up to 85 mph. At the plate, he works from a slightly open and upright stance, and showcased an accurate barrel with ability to lag in the zone, working line drives from gap to gap. He's definitely an uncommitted middle-infielde name to circle moving forward.

Liked the approach yesterday in BP from the @PBR_Uncommitted MIF. Accurate barrel with ability to lag in the zone. 6.84 runner & 85 mph across the diamond as well. #BeSeen #ImpactScoutDay@impactsportsla pic.twitter.com/HVhcE3UcVy
+ 2025 RHP Caleb Wall (Dutchtown HS)
6'0" 155 lbs. lean and athletic frame. Wall was another Dutchtown arm who had a good showing at Wednesday's Impact Scout Day. He worked through a controlled and repeatable delivery, and used a compact arm stroke to release the ball from a high 3/4 slot. Wall sat 82-85 mph with his FB and the pitch played up, while showing some life through the zone. His 76-79 mph SL was sharp with late top-to-bottom break down in the zone and he also showed good feel for his 76-77 mph CH that had some late arm-side run and fade. Dutchtown arms are always known as being strike-throwing competitors and Wall looks to be cut from that same cloth, which makes him an appealing arm to continue to see this summer and moving forward.
