New England Inside the Recruitment:  Sebastian Gruszecki, RHP

Sebastian Gruszecki, RHP, Shephard Hill Regional, 2016

PBR: What made you choose Florida Gulf Coast?
Gruszecki: I chose FGCU for multiple reasons: It has a great location, beautiful campus, good and very competitive athletics, provides a good education, and it was always my dream since I was a little to play baseball down south.

PBR: What other schools had interest in you?
Gruszecki: I didn't get any offers from any other schools but the other schools that I talked to and considered were Hartford, High Point, and Marist.

PBR: When did the coaches first take notice of you?
Gruszecki: The coaches first saw me compete in the Perfect Game Round Robin tournament and our relationship has built since.

PBR: How do you feel you will impact the team as a an incoming freshman?
Gruszecki: I don't know the answer to that question, all I know is that I have to work hard to get a chance to play my first year.

PBR: Who has influenced your game so far in your baseball career?
Gruszecki: My dad has always had the biggest impact on me as a baseball player since I was a little kid. He would always do whatever it took to make me better and he would always push to me to try to be the best that I could be. He also gave me truthful feedback after ever game telling me what I needed to work on.

PBR: What do you think helped you in your recruiting process and what is your fondest memory?
Gruszecki: I play for North East Baseball in the summer and the most exciting experience I've had was going to Tennessee and Georgia for two weeks and competing with the best players in the country.

PBR: Who is the best pitcher you faced?
Gruszecki: Jordan Teevans from Wachusett Regional High School was probably the hardest pitcher I faced in school ball.
