Showcase Circuit: Favorite Senior Pitchers

Nathan Rode
National Supervisor

If there is an offseason in baseball, it’s right about now. To fill the void, we’re taking a look back at the showcase season—the summer and fall—and highlighting some favorite prospects. These aren’t necessarily the top prospects in order, rather the players I most enjoyed watching as a crisscrossed the country. We started with the standout hitters and continue with the pitchers.

Slade Cecconi, RHP, Trinity Prep, FL
Cecconi has a projectable frame with broad shoulders at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds. He pitches with a methodical, easy delivery and sits 91-94, running his fastball up to 97 at times and getting some sink to it. He comes through a high-3/4 slot with a loose, quick arm. His breaking ball has been inconsistent at times, but it flashes two-plane break and tight spin. He also mixes in a changeup at 84. Cecconi is committed to Miami.
