The State Rankings were updated on Wednesday, November 11. There was a small amount of shuffling in the rankings and 25 prospects made their way into the rankings for the first time.

Since our last rankings update, four events took place with our Fall Review, covering the North, South, East and West of the PBR Maryland area of coverage. The Fall Review brought numerous new names and faces from the 2016 class, and many of those participants found their way into the updated rankings. Right-handed pitcher Jordan Tapley (Smithsburg) is the top ranked newcomer to the rankings coming in at No. 62 in the state. Tapley recently committed to Fairmont State and showed well at the Fall Review West, topping out at 85 mph and showing a plus secondary pitch with his changeup.

Pitchers made a strong case in the rankings with the next three newcomers being Alex Thompson (Patuxent, No. 81), Dylan Caldwell, (Leonardtown, No. 82), and Steven Cook (Winters Mill, No. 87) all entering the ranks for the first time. Cook made a strong appearance in October at the Fall Review East, topping out at 82 mph with a nice breaking ball and showing projection with his frame and more in the tank.

Other Fall Review participants C Luca Tesselli (St. Maria Goretti) and Jacob Wade (Gwynn Park) made their way into the rankings. Tesselli showed to be a solid catching prospect with his 2.05 pop and exit velocity of 81 mph. Wade impressed as well with a 6.83 60-yard dash and 82 mph outfield velocity. The switch-hitter shows potential at the plate with his slap-style hitting.
