Season Outlook
A young Falcon roster again in 2016 provides optimism for the future for Gerstell Academy.  A strong core of players in the junior and sophomore class looks to build on the 2015 season after an early exit in the MIAA C tournament. Leading the offensive end is sophomore INF Matt Szedlock, coming off a .308 season as a freshmen. Sophomore Brennan Sedney hit .250 last season and should continue to improve upon his All-conference selection of last year. Junior SS Taylor Hodges will be a key player for the Falcons and one of the older players on the roster. Hodges hit .312 last season and should only improve upon that. Keep an eye on newcomers 2018 Matt Nowakowski and 2019 Reece Early to also contribute to the lineup. Nowakowski is a transfer and Early is a young talented freshmen that should contribute both at the plate and on the mound for the Falcons.

As a whole the pitching staff is talented but will need to cut down their walk totals which was almost one per-inning. With a year under the young staff???s belt, this number should go down and lead to more success. Szedlock, Nowakowski, and Sedney should all provide innings this season. Early should also contribute on the mound as well with his low 80???s fastball and more in the tank.  Keep an eye on this young Falcon roster as they hope to challenge for an MIAA C title.
