Less than two months remain before the start of the 2018  high school baseball season. We will spotlight teams from around the state as we near the start of our high school preseason and season coverage.

Outlook
After a 3A state championship run in 2017, the Falcons go into 2018 now moving down to the 2A west.  A majority of the roster returning for this upcoming spring instantly makes the Falcons a contender for the 2A. Leading the way offensively for the Falcons are the big three in SS/RHP Brady Pearre (High Point), 3B Ryan Haddaway (Mount St. Mary's), and C Matt Convers (St. Mary's College of MD). The outfield returns with Jimmy Dutton, Ryan Kasten, and Colin Metz as well as 1B Zach Weidenhofer  On the mound, Poolesville will need to find some arms after returners Pearre, and Jimmy Dutton. it was a special season in 2017, and 2018 the Falcons look poised to do so again, although they will not sneak up on any one this season. The 2A West is the toughest region in 2A, so their quest for another championship will be a tough one, but look for the Falcons to contend once again.
