MD Fall Invite 11/4/17

Athletic solid frame at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. Hits from a narrow, tall, slightly open set up with hands at shoulder. Rockback load with a leg kick with knee in and slight arm bar. Level swing path with some extension through contact. can get on front foot at times in swing. Shows some strength at the plate with gap to gap approach and average bat speed. Exit velocity of 86 mph. Active feet at third base. Clean one-two fielding through ball and release in fluid action. Sound exchange throwing from a lower three quarter slot. Shows some arm strength across diamond with a 79 mph velocity. Home to first of 4.50. ---- Compact delivery building up momentum with lowering of hands an bringing up with lift. Longer loose arm action throwing from a three quarter slot. Gets some corkscrew in lift working down to out and slight crossbody at landing causing for finish toward first base side. Gets very nice backside involvement. Fastball come out well at 83 mph. Curveball has bigger 11/5 action on the pitch at 67 mph. Slider is harder with similar shape but later break at 73 mph.

Matt Rodriguez of Mizuno Aces has a strong athletic frame, quick bat with rhythm and swagger at the plate, will find the barrel with a slight uphill bath, looks to do damage on every swing...was up to 82 mph on the mound for Mizuno. He had a shorter quick arm action on the mound...
