One of the top uncommitted prospects still on the market in the state with a track record of in-game production and a standout showing this past weekend. Athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pounds with high-floor tools throughout and gamer traits litter the profile. Took impressive swings across the weekend while facing quality pitching and tallied a homerun with a trio of singles. Well-connected RH cut in a quick trigger while working from a balanced load as he stays coiled well for excellent weight transfer through the zone. Direct path to contact with fast hands through the zone while creating length and present accuracy in the barrel. Zone awareness and pitch recognition allow him to be able to adjust to both velo or spin as he did damage amongst various different mixes in a statement showing at The Cup. Versatile defender across the infield with long-term ability to stick up-the-middle. Fluid, bouncy actions that allow for excellent lateral range paired with great hands in the dirt and made countless tough plays in each look. Hargett is armed with the type of swiss-army knife profile that coaches are looking for at this point in time as they continue to fill out their rosters and he could prove pivotal to a multitude of schools across various levels.

Colton Burtch, RHP, 2027, Union Grove

Recently uncommitted, Burtch continues to make strides while offering a track record of high-level pitching across multiple different stages. Explosive look out of the pen on Saturday afternoon to slam the door for the Astros. Durable 6-foot-0, 196-pounds with a stout lower half and moves well. Excellent mover with feel to repeat with a clean, loose arm stroke and layback that points to even more velocity to project. Bulldog mentality on the bump and works fast while controlling the pace as he attacks in-the-zone with intent. Bullying fastball that generated plenty of in-zone whiffs at 90-92 (T93 MPH) with heaviness through the zone. Tight break to the slider with innate ability to tunnel at 79-80 and created multiple freezes. Sparingly utilized a changeup to left-handed hitters at 83 MPH as well to round out the arsenal. Pitch ability has always shined for Burtch as the stock continues to grow with a potential D1 commitment looming. Key piece in a deep postseason run a year ago and could be touching 95 when the spring rolls around.

The uncommitted outfielder has performed for multiple members of staff since the start of the year. Added to his resume this past weekend with multiple hits including a long home-run to the pull-side. Compact strength in the 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame with athleticism throughout and gamer qualities stand out. Ability to create some separation at the plate while transferring weight well and minimal wasted effort in the RH cut. Quick trigger and stays compact through the zone with feel to manipulate the barrel for pull-side leverage. Innate bat-to-ball skills with accuracy in the barrel and works through the middle of the field well. Defensively, Holle has a chance to profile across the grass long-term. Foot speed carries with excellent instincts and tracking alike for tracking in all directions. Polished off the field as well and profile continues to grow with a chance to draw interest across multiple levels.

Uncommitted. Sims has really been on an upward trajectory since the start of the year in the midst of a breakout campaign. Athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pounds that still holds plenty more projection throughout the frame and profile. Went 5-for-5 at the plate during my look on Sunday while working both gaps extremely well throughout. Utilizes a toe-tap load to maintain balance while keeping a direct, flat path in-zone. Loose hands/wrists with length and feel to adjust while staying through the ball well in a gap-to-gap approach. Soft hands and range in the middle of the field stand out with potential for a long-term home in the dirt. Arm-strength continues to grow and could carry long-term while rounding out a high-floor defensive profile. Sims will carry a major role this upcoming spring and the path to a substantial ceiling is well in the works.

Uncommitted. Jones is quickly becoming one of my favorite watches across the state, after yet another standout showing both in the box and in the grass. Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 168-pounds and is armed with a top-of-the-order profile while boasting gamer qualities throughout. Consistently sets the tone at the top with ability to work deep counts often and spoils tough pitches. Innate bat-to-ball skills shine with advanced zone recognition paired with excellent takes and swing decisions, while working the entire field with ease. Rhythmic, quick leg-lift load that keeps him on-time for both velocity and spin in the zone. Utilizes a controlled move forward and creates separation with balance through the swing. Shows a compact stroke that lives in the zone forever with strong forearms and ability to control the barrel really well. Chance for a long-term home in centerfield with a strong first step and made countless tough plays across the tournament. Foot speed and instincts could carry the defensive profile with fantastic tracking ability that allow for coverage to both gaps in all directions. Has done nothing but become one of the more consistent pieces in this class since mid spring, and offers a well-rounded skillset that should entice multiple coaches across different levels.

Uncommitted. Simply a man on a mission as he played with his hair on fire all weekend and paced the USA Scout offense throughout. Tied for the tournament lead in extra-base hits with 3 doubles & a HR. Barrel-chested 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with real strength in the frame and consistently yields loud exits. Simple, balanced load and shifts weight well through impact with very little wasted effort in the potent right-handed cut. Well-leveraged path with length and accuracy in the barrel backed by plus hand and bat speed. Body control shines with ability to adjust to various mixes in-the-zone and always stays within his approach with minimal chase/swing-and-miss. Quality actions at either corner infield spot and chance to continue to grow into the overall profile. Robbins has firmly cemented himself as one of the top power bats in the ‘28 class in the state and a gigantic junior campaign appears to be well under way.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 17 in the state and No. 255 in the country. 6-foot, 202-pound frame with proportionate strength and room to continue to add. The movement patterns stand out immediately with a clean, simple operation on the mound that works in-line. It’s a clean, loose arm that plays from a higher ¾ slot, hiding it some on the backside out of the glove. The fastball showed carry traits with late run at times, collecting swing and miss in the zone while playing 87-89 mph in a brief look. The curveball flashed at 73 mph with sharp two-plane break, landing it for a back-door strike. Dynamic pitch shapes paired with upside movement patterns and left-handedness makes Broadway one of the top uncommitted prospects in the entire event.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 23 in Virginia. Physical 6-foot-200-pound frame with broad shoulders and a developed lower-half. It was a bullying look from the strong right-hander as he didn’t allow a single hit over five shutout innings, scattering three walks against nine strikeouts. He’s a powerful mover down the mound with a stack over the rubber and intentful drop/drive shift downhill, guiding a full arm action that is quick out front from a ¾ window. The fastball sat upper-80s and peaked at 89 mph early on, attacking in the zone and beating barrels consistently with late life and finish. He was ultra confident in his slider at 76-78 mph, showing sharp 10/4 shape with wipeout potential while spinning over 2,500 rpm. Must-know uncommitted arm that competes on the mound.

South Carolina commit, currently ranked No. 1 in Maryland and No. 79 in the country. Athletic and lean 6-foot-2, 199-pound frame with room to continue to add strength. One of the top left-handed bats in the park, showed the ability to cover the plate with ease with some bat-to-ball skills. Clean, controlled forward move paired with a simple swing that stays short to the ball with length through the zone and loose wrists. Natural defender on the infield that will stick long-term - fluid feet with timing and rhythm, paired with confident and soft hands. Arm is plenty strong to stick left side long-term and he has the foot-speed as well.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 22 in Florida and No. 195 in the country. 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, trim and lean frame with plenty more room to add strength. Athletic switch-hitting shortstop with his best days still ahead. It’s a balanced operation from both sides with a clean, direct move and loose hands that work flat through the zone. The at-bats were more productive from the left side in our look this weekend with more barrels and less swing/miss than the right, as he’s a natural right-hander that is in the middle of golf season right now. He’s an athletic defender on the dirt with range and quick first step, pairing with smooth glovework and a strong arm that is quick to release and can play from multiple angles. Premium switch hitting and middle infield profile that will only get better as he continues to get stronger and mature in the coming years.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 96 in the state. Physical, muscle-bound frame with rounded shoulders and a developed lower-half, standing in at 5-foot-11, 210-pounds. Strong right-handed hitter that was on the barrel numerous times with loud results including a no-doubt home run pull-side. Spread out base in the box that works with a simple stride and short load of the hands, staying direct to the baseball with strong hands and bat-speed, appeared comfortable using the whole field while showing quality barrel control throughout the weekend. Hard worker behind the plate with soft hands, active and willing blocker to pair. Arm played strong and accurately from the chute with a clean transfer. Uncommitted backstop with quality catch/throw and present hit/power tool.

DJ Jones, RHP/INF, 2028, Homeschool

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 46 in Georgia. With a loose, athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, Jones put together one of the more impressive weekends on both sides on the diamond. In the box, Jones was nothing but living on the barrel, leading off Sunday with a solo shot, 91 mph EV, 358 ft. Following suit with a handful of loud knocks making his presence known within the lead-off spot. It’s a fluid and calm left-handed swing, working a quick uphill path, with hands working compact and direct to the ball, able to drive the ball on a line to the pull-side. Then out of the box, it's a quick gate with speed that plays up on the base paths. Jones would also give an impressive look on the mound early Sunday, with the fastball sitting 85-88 mph and the breaking ball 77-78 mph. The command wavered at times, but the right-handed arm was able to settle in and find the zone. The athletic actions translate to the mound, operating loose and free, with present arm speed from a ¾ slot. An intriguing two-way profile, setting Jones apart as an uncommitted name to know with the state.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 2 in Maryland and No. 158 nationally. The physical 6-foot-1, 199-pound frame put together a strong showing during the Friday night cap. Marrl showed maturity in the box, making an adjustment from getting jammed up in his first at-bat to turning on an early fastball, driving it to the fence for a double. It’s loud production off the barrel, working with controlled actions, hands staying short and quick to the ball, with a longer finish. Then, with the glove, Marrl showed athletic actions, able to range to both sides, paired with a strong arm working with carry. The actions will stick at the next level, placing him as an uncommitted name to know at the hot corner.

Liam Gordon, RHP, 2028, Ballantyne Ridge

Uncommitted. Gordon put together a loud performance on the mound during the Saturday night cap. The right-hander tossed three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, while striking out five. Dealing with a three-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 88-90 mph with carry, the curveball was in the low-70s, and the changeup was sitting in the low-80s. Gordon was consistently pounding the zone with all three pitches, getting ahead early and able to garner plenty of whiffs. On the mound, the filled-out 6-foot, 180-pound frame works out of a controlled rocker motion, with repeatable actions working in sync. The arm works out of a deceptive lower ¾ slot with a late release point causing uncomfortable at-bats for hitters. The ball jumps out of the hand with late movement. An impressive showing from the uncommitted right-hander.

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 3 in Colorado and No. 212 in the Nation. Dubofsky caught attention right away on the mound Saturday morning. Working with a polished two-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 87-90 mph, with late arm-side run through the zone. While the slider was 74-77 mph, playing with sweeping action. The movement profiles are plus, all with late action, able to miss barrels with ease. The right-hander would toss three scoreless innings, allowing zero hits and one walk, while striking out two. It’s easy action from the 6-foot-4, 202-pound frame, with room to add. The arm plays quick from a half-circle, ¾ slot. Dubofsy hides the ball well, creating even more uncertainty for hitters with pitches that dive late. The stuff certainly plays up and creates tons of intrigue.

Yet another quality outing on a big stage for the Junior Future Games alum while playing up. Induced weak outs throughout across 4.2 innings-pitched while striking out 5 to pick up the win in pool play. Physical 5-foot-11, 199-pounds with a stout lower half and moves well downhill. Methodical delivery with a controlled operation and shows a clean, repeatable arm action from a three-quarter slot. Shows excellent command of the fastball throughout the zone with arm-side run at 82-84 and plenty of velocity to project. Spins over a slider with depth at 67-70 that induces both whiffs and freezes. Changeup rounds out the arsenal and present a future advanced offering with advanced feel to both RH and LH at 75-76 that creates late-depth and fade. Creates ugly in-zone misses with weak ground balls as well. Pitchability stands out for Rohlfs, and looks like he is going to get a ton of outs for the years to come with a potential quality role looming as a freshman for the Eagles.

The #1 catcher in Georgia’s 2029 class has one of more advanced profiles that you’ll find in the class on both sides of the ball and opened the fall with that on full display. Athleticism in the 5-foot-11, 190-pounds has stood out for years and now the strength is beginning to catch up in a hurry. Shows an advanced feel for the zone every time in the box with an unwillingness to chase and will spoil quality pitches throughout. The ability to stay on-time and balanced through the bigger load allows Long to adjust in-zone and find quality contact often. Picked up multiple two-strike XBHs on the week, showing barrel feel to drive balls backside with intent as well as maybe the swing of the week as Long would back spin a 3-1 fastball to LCF for a 419ft. no-doubter. Present above-average defensive profile will keep the sophomore behind the plate with a significant ceiling long-term as well as holding the tools to offer at both 3B and corner outfield as well. Already earning some bullish comps from me personally and continues to look more and more like a real presence in the class.

Tremendous look at one of the top LHP in South Carolina’s 2029 class, notching 7 K over 4.1 scoreless IP. Projection stands out instantly with a lean, high-waisted 6-foot-4, 190-pound frame that’s armed with a compact, repeatable arm action and body control alike. Fastball lives 84-87 with some carrying life through the zone and ability to run it up to 88 at times with much more velocity to come. Generated in-zone misses frequently on the fastball paired with command to land early and often for strikes. High-upside pitch. Curveball pairs very well in the mid-70s with ability to create huge depth and present feel to spin to help create swing-and-miss both in and out of the zone. Changeup was shown sparingly at 80-81 with some late fade and budding feel that will help round out a strong three pitch mix with continued development. Pitchability is already very real for Spargur and could be scratching the surface on what can be an impact profile in the Palmetto State’s sophomore class.

Whitaker was a standout performer for multiple members of our staff throughout the week, flashing a strong all-around profile with production at the top of the order. Rangy defender at short with an athletic 6-foot-0, 165-pound frame that shows strong lateral actions and advanced instincts that showed consistently in-game. Soft hands on transfers and shows the present arm strength to make any throw necessary. Approach at the plate was equally as impressive as Whitaker brings impressive bat-to-ball skills from the right side, utilizing a short, well-connected load and line-drive oriented path that sprays balls across the field. Sub-7.0 runner that plays much faster in-game with a ton of gamer qualities that only strengthen the overall profile. Big arrow up here and could be poised for a breakout sophomore spring.

Jason Spray Jr., OF, 2030, Mount Paran

Sometimes different is just different and that appears to be the case when talking about incoming freshman OF Jason Spray Jr. Standing 6-foot-5, 195-pounds, Spray is already a presence in the class and the frame is just barely starting to show any signs of real physical development. Significant projectability going forward. The present body control of the levers shines at the plate with a balanced stride to contact that gets the front foot down quickly and shows a flatter path through the zone that found barrels often. Drove extra-bases hits to both LF and CF on bracket day, both leaving the bat at 90+. The future power profile is easy to see from the budding barrel feel and obvious frame with big in-game strides being made with each look. The defensive long-term home will likely be in a corner outfield spot where the arm strength and power profile will thrive and fill a prototype role. Sky-high ceiling for Spray and will be exciting to see this spring on one of the most talented underclass rosters in the state.

Currently ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma and No. 25 in the country, Brumbaugh certainly looked the part as one of the top players in attendance. It’s a highly projectable and athletic 5-foot-11, frame that we can expect to only continue to fill out and help add impact to his profile. Left-handed hitter with a mature approach, saw it well and was comfortable using the whole field while controlling the barrel and taking pitches where they are thrown, giving pesky at-bats routinely. Showed savvy glovework on the infield with a natural look and fluidity, pairing with a sufficient arm.

Currently ranked No. 4 in Tennessee and No. 69 in the country. 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame with significant room to add muscle in the coming years. Looks to be one of the top left-handed bats in the country for his class at the moment, pairing power with feel to hit. It’s a pretty left-handed swing with length through the zone and bat-speed, producing loud outputs in-game. He’s able to stay on-time and adjust with ease, showing control of his lower-half and hands in the swing with the ability to match plane.

Currently ranked No. 14 in the state. 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, long-levered and high-waisted with all sorts of room to continue to add strength. Dominated over his three innings of work with no hits allowed, striking out seven in shutout run-rule win. Easy, clean mover that repeats well for the size, works in-line downhill. The arm is quick out front from a high ¾ release, playing with a full path out of the glove. He syncs up his body and arm arm well to create an explosive fastball that gets on hitters in the 83-86 mph range, and we should expect to see that number continue to climb in the near future. The curveball is still developing but flashed at 73-76 mph with over the top shape and depth with the ability to land in the zone. High ceiling arm with his best days still ahead.

Lucas McCauley, RHP/INF, 2029, Grace Christian Academy

Currently ranked No. 9 in Tennessee and No. 283 nationally. McCauley put together one of the more impressive showings from the ‘29 class throughout the entire tournament. While initially the bat stood out, able to work both sides of the field on a line, with nothing to show for it finding a glove every time. With the ability to drive the ball with a long and smooth, uphill path. McCauley quickly inserted himself into a must-know arm, coming out of the bullpen to close things out. Tossing 1.1 innings, striking out three and walking two, it was a loud showing from the right-hander. The fastball was sitting 87-90 mph, working firm through the zone. The slider was 83-84 mph, with sharp movement, and the curveball was 74-76 mph, able to change the pace well. There was a lot to love from the operation on the mound: long, loose levers, working with plus extension down the hill. The arm works with long extensions in the back half, firing out of a lower ¾ slot. As the maturity continues to develop on the mound, McCauley will be a must-follow in the coming years.

Currently ranked No. 6 in Tennessee and No. 2026 nationally. Chunn presented himself as one of the more physical ‘29s, standing at a 6-foot, 200-pound frame. The right-handed bat showed feel for the barrel throughout his games Saturday, with a handful of impactful swings. Able to create chaos on the bases, taking advantage of a fielding mistake to advance to second, then forcing a throwing error to take two extra bases to score. The power was on display in game two with a pair of loud line drives, with hands that work strong and quick to the ball, able to get into the lower half effectively. While the glove stood out at short, showing not only the actions but the IQ to stick it there. Chunn made a number of heads-up plays to keep runners from taking an extra base, while showcasing soft hands with present range to both sides. The arm strength is there, able to work the ball on a line deep in the hole.

Currently ranked No. 29 in Alabama, Roberts put together a dominant showing on the mound Saturday morning. The right-hander tossed 3.2 innings, allowing one hit, one run, and three walks, while striking out nine. A long-limbed, 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with more room to add, Roberts works quick and controlled on the mound. Able to drive with good extensions down the mound, landing open at times. The arm plays out of a high ¾ slot, working clean through the back half. Dealing with a three-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 85-88 mph, T90x2, with late life in the zone. The curveball was 65-67 mph, still developing, and the changeup was 75-76 mph. It was fastball-heavy through the majority of his outing, but he was able to miss barrels and attack the zone with ease. As the secondaries continue to develop, this is a right-handed arm to follow in the coming years.
