The Future Trials West was held on Wednesday, July 6 at Saint James school in Hagerstown, Maryland. 30 young athletes made their way to perform in front of the PBR Maryland staff and college coaches.
Travis Rinker (pictured) was one of the top performers on the day leading all catchers with the lowest pop time (2.01) and outfield velocity (79 mph). The 2019 grad from Georgetown Prep looks to be an interesting prospect to follow. Another 2019, Spencer McNamee of Saint James, was another interesting young talent after pitching up to 82 mph on the mound and also running a 7.06 60-yard dash. Bryant Shives (St. Maria Goretti) has shown his growth, showing improvement in all statistical categories and shaping into a nice 2018 prospect in Western Maryland.
