Maryland Draft Report 2015

The 2015 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft went almost as expected in the state of Maryland with three high school players being selected. Ljay Newsome was the first current Maryland high school player taken in the 26th round by the Seattle Mariners. Cody Morris, the top ranked player in the MD 2015 class, was taken in the 32nd round by the Baltimore Orioles. Hunter Parsons rounded out the Maryland high school class being selected in the 40th round by the Cleveland Indians. Nine Maryland high school alumni were also drafted after heading off to the college ranks with six coming from the Division I ranks, one from Division II, one from Division III, and one from the Junior College Ranks.  Below is the list of Maryland HS products drafted.
