2016 Recap
Spalding, Spalding, Spalding. The Cavaliers finished up the careers of a talented senior class with another MIAA championship, their third in a row, beating Gilman in an elimination game final. Spalding won the regular season and were dominant throughout the year and spent most of the year as the top ranked team in the state throughout.
Gilman made it to the championship game in the tournament with a strong tournament run. Calvert Hall had an up and down campaign in 2016, struggling to find consistency during the year and make a run to the end. St. Paul’s had a surprising season in which they put together a very successful campaign making the tournament. John Carroll finished out of the playoffs after looking like a team on paper that could have competed for a championship. St. Mary’s had a successful first year in the A conference, but offensive consistency proved to be costly for the team to make a run. Curley showed young talent that just wasn’t quite ready to make the run needed. Loyola-Blakefield, had a successful season finishing fourth in the regular season
