This week we take one final look at the roster from our Maryland Unsigned Senior Games at Harford Community College. Today we conclude our look back with a full analysis of the two-way players from the event. 

 

MARYLAND UNSIGNED SENIOR GAMES TWO-WAY PLAYERS (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)

Joseph Davis RHP/3B Appoquinimink (DE) 2019
Athletic, lankier body type and 5-foot-11, 150 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a high leg kick. Explosive lower half, quick hands, and fast bat speed. Attacks the ball and swings with intent. Exit velo was 83 mph. Short, slightly uphill swing path with a one-handed finish. Gap-to-gap type hitter with present pull-side power. Plays third base with active feet and plays through the ball. Showed soft hands and a clean exchange. Shorter arm action throwing form a high three-quarter slot at 85 mph. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Quick side-step wind-up and delivery. Gets to a tall balance point and showed some down to out lower half drive. Clean hand separation with quick arm speed through release. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot with some effort. Gets over front side well and lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 81-83 mph. Power breaking ball with tight spin and 11/5 action at 67-69 mph. Change-up showed slight fade and at 69-71 mph.

Patrick DeFeciani 1B/LHP Clarkstown North (NY) 2019
Solid body type and 6-foot-1, 185 pound frame. Hits from the left side in an athletic, balanced, square stance. Minimal movement and short back load. Strong lower half involvement and nice extension through contact. Quick hands and bat speed. Exit velo was 85 mph. Used all fields well during BP and showed some strength and gap-to-gap power. Plays through the ball at first base with soft hands and showed fluid footwork around the bag turning the double play. Long arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot at 77 mph. Controlled side-step wind-up, high leg kick into a tall balance point. Clean hand separation and smooth rhythm throughout delivery. Pitches downhill with some lower half drive. Creates arm speed through release with long, loose arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot with easy effort. Lands square to the plate with a complete, athletic finish. Fastball touched 79 mph and sat 75-76 mph with some arm side run. Breaking ball showed big, gradual 1/7 shape at 58-60 mph. Change-up was 61-63 mph with slight fade. 

Terrell Delaney RHP/3B CH Flowers 2019
Solid, compact, athletic body type and 5-foot-11, 185 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate. Rock back load creating nice hand separation. Stays behind the ball well with some lower half involvement and bat speed. Short, direct, slightly uphill swing path with an exit velo of 67 mph. Line drive type hitter. Plays through the ball at third base with soft hands. Funnels ball to chest and showed quick, clean exchanges. Throws with long arm action from a low three-quarters slot at 72 mph. Ran a 7.66 60 yard dash. Slight up-tempo side-step wind-up and high leg kick into balance point. Clean hand separation with down to out lower half drive. Pitches with a smooth rhythm landing square to home plate with an athletic finish. Long, loose arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot with easy effort. Fastball was 70-72 mph. Breaking ball had tight spin and 11/5 break at 61-64 mph. Change-up showed some fade at 67-69 mph.

Jacob Gill LHP/OF Patuxent 2019
Athletic, lanky body type and 6-foot, 155 pound frame. Hits from a tall, balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Quiet approach with a quick leg kick load. Good balance throughout swing with some lower half involvement. Gets nice extension through contact and stays behind the ball well. Short, level swing path and some bat speed. Line drive gap-to-gap type hitter. Exit velo was 75 mph. Plays through the ball in the outfield with fundamental footwork and a glove tap in exchange. Long arm action throwing from a low three-quarters slot at 67 mph. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Pitches from a slightly open stretch position. High leg kick into balance point with a high hand set. Generates some lower half drive and creates quick arm speed through release. Shorter arm action throwing from a low three-quarter slot with easy effort. Lands slightly closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 65-66 mph. Breaking ball showed gradual 12/6 shape at 56-59 mph. Change-up was 60-61 mph with plus dive.

Loy Hickmon SS/RHP St. John’s College 2019
Athletic body type and 5-foot-9, 160 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square, pre-loaded stance. Quiet body with minimal movement at the plate. Showed quick hands, fast bat speed and some lower half involvement. Stays through and behind the ball well with good extension through contact. Short, level swing path and an exit velo of 81 mph. Gap-to-gap line drives type hitter. Went 1-for-3  with a double in the game and ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Athletic and plays through the ball in the infield. Quick footwork, soft hands, and a quick, clean exchange at shortstop. Shorter arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot at 82 mph across the diamond. Quick side-step wind-up into a tall controlled balance point. Clean hand separation with down to out lower half drive. Smooth rhythm through delivery landing square to the plate with an athletic finish. Short back arm action and loose arm creating quick arm speed. Throws from a mid three-quarters arm slot with regular effort. Fastball touched 86 mph and sat 82-84 mph. Breaking ball had sharp 11/5 break at 71-73 mph. Change-up was 74-76 mph with slight fade.

Collin Reed OF/RHP Dr. Henry A. Wise 2019
Long, lanky, athletic body type and 6-foot-3, 165 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a leg kick. Sits on back side and attacks the ball with intent. Creates nice separation and showed explosive lower half involvement. Quick hands and fast bat speed. Short, level swing path and good extension through contact. Gap-to-gap type hitter with some pop. Fluid rhythm and a 75 mph exit velo. Athletic and plays through the ball in the outfield with quick footwork and a quick, clean exchange. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 79 mph. Also ran a 7.22 60 yard dash. Pitches from a slightly closed stretch position. Controlled slight rock back and high leg kick into a tall balance point. Clean hand separation and strong down to our lower half drive. Pitches with uphill tilt, smooth rhythm and gets over front side well. Lands square to the plate with an athletic finish. Long, free, whippy arm action creating quick arm speed. Throws from a high three-quarter slot with regular effort. Fastball sat 76-78 mph and touched 79 mph. Breaking ball was 67-69 mph with tight spin and sharp 12/6 shape.

Jacob Rostkowski RHP/1B South Carroll 2019
Long, lanky body type and projectable 6-foot-6, 210 pound frame with room to fill out. Hits from a balanced, athletic, open stance. Small back load and short stride. Creates nice hand separation. Quick bat speed and showed good extension through contact. Strong lower half involvement at times, would like to see more consistency. Stays behind the ball and has a short uphill swing path. Gap-to-gap type hitter with some pop. Exit velo up to 83 mph. Big target at first base. Showed solid fundamental footwork and clean exchanges. Longer arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot at 72 mph. Ran a 7.52 60 yard dash. Slow, methodical side-step wind-up getting to a tall balance point. Smooth delivery with clean hand separation and strong lower half drive. Long arm action creating quick arm speed through release. Lands square to the plate and gets over front side well falling off to the first base side in finish. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with easy effort. Fastball touched 77 mph and sat 71-74 mph. Breaking ball showed gradual 11/5 shape at 57-60 mph. Change-up was 68-69 mph with slight sink.

Hayden Snelsire RHP/2B Stephen Decatur 2019
Long, lanky, athletic body type and 6-foot-2, 180 pound frame with room to fill out. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate. Smooth back load and high leg kick for timing. Creates nice separation and stay behind the ball well with some lower half involvement. Showed some bat speed and good extension through contact. Short, level swing path with an exit velo of 77 mph. Line drive gap-to-gap type hitter. Plays through the ball in the infield with soft hands and quick footwork. Quick, clean exchanges throwing with shorter arm action from a low three quarter slot at 76 mph. Ran a 7.22 60 yard dash. Side-step wind-up into a tall balance point with a quarter corkscrew. Sits on back side and gets strong down to out lower half drive. Shorter arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot with regular effort. Creates quick arm speed through release and lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball sat 77-79 and touched 81 mph. Curveball showed tight spin and 11/5 shape at 63-64 mph. Slider was more 10/4 at 63-65 mph. Change-up was 60-64 mph.

Aaron Winsker SS/RHP Hereford 2019
Athletic body type and 5-foot-10, 165 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load and strong lower half involvement. Showed quick hands and fast bat speed. Short, level swing path with an exit velo of 82 mph. Gap-to-gap line drives type hitter with occasional pop. Went 1-for-2 in the game. Athletic and plays through the ball in the infield with fluid footwork, soft hands and a clean exchange. Longer arm action throwing form a high three-quarter slot at 82 mph. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Smooth side step wind-up and delivery. High leg kick into a tall balance point position. Long, whippy arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot with regular effort. Creates quick arm speed through release landing square in an athletic finish. Strong lower half drive and really gets over front side. Fastball was 78-82 mph. Breaking ball was sharper with more 12/6 action on it at 65-73 mph. Change-up showed some dive at 67-69 mph.
