On Sunday February 18th PBR Maryland will host the Preseason All-State at Diamond Pros baseball facility in Glen Arm, MD. The biggest event prior to the high school season in Maryland will feature some of the top players and prospects around the state and put them all on one stage in front of the PBR scouting staff. As with all PBR events, all players will get their performance videoed and professionally edited to update or start their PBR Profile. Today we spotlight one of the players on the roster for the event.

Preseason All-State Spotlight: Ethan Mccormick
Scouting Report
12.4.16: McCormick is 6-0 with a lanky frame, has a drop and drive delivery and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot. Arm action is short and free, quick stroke with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and on line as strides to a square landing with athletic finish. Fastball has heavy run, sitting 76-80 and touching 81. Splitter was 69-71 with decent armspeed and fading action. Breaking ball has late break, 10/4 to glove side 11/5 arm side, running 69-71. Showed feel of all three pitches. Hits from right side from an open athletic stance, strides on line and smooth load back, good rhythm. Explosive hips and above average balance throughout swing. Short to ball with extension through it, line drive swing that worked gap to gap, exit velocity was 79. At short, good quick footwork and soft hands, plays through ball well with a quick clean exchange. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a position velocity of 74. 60 time was 7.27.
