Parkside HS 2017 Grant Burleson is a fast rising name in the state of Maryland this spring. The talented young lefty has put his name on the radar after showing mid-80???s velocity and a good breaking ball and changeup in the winter at the Maryland Preseason ID.  He is currently getting plenty of interest from multiple programs in the Mid-Atlantic region. The young man took  time out to talk with PBR Maryland about the process thus far.

What has the recruiting process been like for you?

+ I expected to be nervous while going through the process. That wasn't the case, I feel comfortable. It is also fun knowing that all these colleges are interested in me.

What are key factors you are looking for in a school?

+The main factor to me is the location, I don't want to be too close to home or too far either. I wouldn???t mind to play down south where it is warmer. Coaching staff is a big role and playing time is as well.

When did things start to heat up in your recruitment?

+ I went to the PBR camp and got noticed. Once my information got out there, my name got hot.

When did you realize that you were a college caliber baseball player?

+ I was kind of a late bloomer. The start of this year I started throwing hard and since I'm a lefty it has helped.

Have you been on any visits?

+ I am going to visit Maryland.

Have you been in contact with any schools?

+ Maryland, Virginia tech, Virginia,

What has been the biggest moment in your baseball career?

+ During the season, the Maryland and Virginia tech coaches came to watch me pitch.

Who do you play for over the summer? Why did you decide to play for them?

+ I am playing for the Evoshield Canes, they have one of the best organizations

Is there a MLB player that you would compare your style of play with?

+ Maybe like a Clayton Kershaw

Do you have any offers?

+ None right now
