Q&A with Fordham Commit Ryan Davis

Ryan DavisSt. Mary’s HS senior Ryan Davis committed to Fordham in 2014.  Davis was a big contributor to St. Mary’s pitching rotation and their 27-1 season in 2014.  The LHP was kind enough to take time out for PBR Maryland and let us all get to know him better. 

Why did you choose Fordham?

--Fordham will give me the opportunity to succeed in the classroom as well as on the baseball diamond. I also love how close it is to New York City. 

What other schools were you considering?

--Delaware, Catholic, Lehigh, Washington and Lee

Now that your commitment is over, what are your goals for your senior year?

--To win the MIAA conference again. Secondly, l want to be all county and all conference.

What would you like to get accomplished before you step on campus at Fordham?

--I want to continue to build leg strength and become more flexible which will help me on the mound.

Who did you play for over the summer and what was your most memorable experience?

--I played for the Rawlings A's. My most memorable experience would have to be holding Georgetown Prep to 1 hit over 6 innings.

Who has been the most influential person over your baseball career and why?

--My dad has been the most influential person to my baseball career. He always pushes me to strive for greatness. Coach Poss and Coach Miller have also helped me grow as a player.

Who is your favorite MLB player and why?

--Cliff Lee because of his demeanor on the mound. He's always hustling on and off the field and looks like he loves what he does.

What is your favorite movie?

--Favorite Movie: Wedding Crashers
