Archbishop Curley HS senior Jordan Menfee committed to Northern Kentucky University in 2014.  The big RHP will head up the Curley staff this year.  You can read the Curley season preview by clicking HERE.  Menfee is also going to be in attendance at the Maryland Preseason ID this upcoming weekend.  Menfee took some time out to discuss his decision. 

Why did you choose NKU?

-- Born in Kentucky and most of my family there

What other schools were you considering?

--Tennessee, Richmond, Morehead State, Campbell, Western Kentucky, and Murray State

Now that your commitment is over, what are your goals for your senior year?

-- To win MIAA Championship

What would you like to get accomplished before you step on campus at NKU?

--Be a good teammate and be a great contributor to team,.

What are you looking forward to the most about Northern Kentucky?

--Competition in the Atlantic Sun Conference. There are lots of Florida teams in that conference and I will have the opportunity to face on the mound.  I am looking forward to very strong opponents

Who did you play for over the summer and what was your most memorable experience?

--I played for the Kentucky Baseball Club. First game of the year pitched a shutout.

Who has been the most influential person over your baseball career and why?

--My dad has been by my side since the start of my career. He my biggest supporter and has always pushed me to be better. 

Who is your favorite MLB player and why?

--Johnny Cueto Cincinnati Reds

What are you going to bring to Northern Kentucky as a freshman?

--I am a hard worker, will be a great Teammate, and look forward to learning the ropes from the upper classmen.

What is your goal by the end of your freshman year?  By the end of your college career?

--To be the best player and teammate I know how to be and contribute to some wins. By the end of my college career I hope to be able to make a run in the Atlantic Sun Conference and possibly participate in making a run to Omaha all while obtaining a college degree.
