Archbishop Curley senior Marty Costes committed to University of Maryland in 2014.  He was kind enough to take time out for PBR Maryland and let us all get to know him better.

Why did you choose UMD?

+ I like The Proximity to my Home. I like the coaching staffs approach to the game.

What other schools were you considering?

+ Towson, Penn State, UMBC

Now that your commitment is over, what are your goals for your senior year?

+ To be a good teammate, to have fun, and to win.

What would you like to get accomplished before you step on campus at Maryland?

+ I want to increase my weight to at least 205 lbs.

What are you looking forward to the most about Maryland?

+ I look forward to many family and friends being able to come see me play in college.

Who did you play for over the summer and what was your most memorable experience?

Who has been the most influential person over your baseball career and why?

+ My Father by far. He has been the most influential in my life, not just baseball. He invested the most time and work with me. I wouldn't be where I am without him.

Who is your favorite MLB player and why?

+ Yasiel Puig, I like his approach to the game, I believe he is the best all-around athlete to be so young, and his story of how he got to the Majors is very interesting and inspiring.

What are you going to bring to Maryland as a freshman?

+ I'm going to bring energy, I'm going to bring support. I'm going to be a team player definitely. I'm also going to bring consistency.
