TEAM STRENGTHS
Avalon has a strong pitching staff with Erik Janss, Dan Searles, Will Stachura, Paul Jackson and Conor Sloan anchoring the staff. Defensively, Avalon feels that 2015 may be the strongest the team has had with Ian Heffley and Kristan Curry leading the way. Mark Searles, a Hood college commit will lead the OF.  Avalon’s roster fits well with their aggressive style of play even with the lack of a true speed threat.

QUESTION MARK
Avalon will need some players to step up and provide power for the offense. Avalon will need some players to step in and provide enough big hits with runners on base. With an aggressive style of play, Avalon needs to make sure that they are still smart on the bases. Both will need to be major focuses for 2015.

WILDCARD
6’5 LHP Conor Sloan is coming off a slightly torn labrum a year ago. He didn’t pitch in the 2014 season and has looked strong and ready to be back in action for the 2015 season. Sloan will be an interesting uncommitted senior to keep an eye on this year and may draw some attention.

OVERALL
The Black Knights look to have another strong season in the OLBC. Pitching and defense look to lead the way for the 2015 campaign. Look for another strong season from the program.
