Earlier this month we began a series of stories entitled "Spring Forward" where we highlight some of the top players, programs, and conferences across a variety of categories for the upcoming 2020 season.

Today our Spring Forward series takes a look at some of the top left-handed pitchers you won't want to miss toe the rubber in 2020.

LEFT-HANDERS TO WATCH IN 2020

MASON ALBRIGHTLHP / OF / CATOCTIN , MD / 2021

The Virginia Tech commit was phenomenal on the bump in 2019 for the Cougars who eventually fell in extra innings to defending state champion Boonsboro in the Section II Final of the 1A West Region. Albright finished with a 0.30 ERA striking out 54 in 30 innings of work. He features an upper 80’s fastball and good command of his off-speed walking just three batters all of last season. Expect Catoctin to compete for a spot in the CMC Championship with Albright leading the way again on the mound in 2020.

TRAVIS GARNETTLHP / 1B / INDIAN CREEK, MD / 2021

As a freshman in 2018, Travis Garnett led Indian Creek to their first ever MIAA “C” Conference title throwing seven innings in the championship game striking out nine while allowing just one run on two hits. The tall, hard throwing University of Maryland commit returns to anchor the staff again in 2020; one season after suffering a heart-breaking 3-2 loss to Concordia Prep in an epic 12 inning game. Garnett features a fastball that sits in the mid-to-upper 80’s and some nasty off-speed stuff. Clearly Indian Creek and Concordia Prep enter 2020 as favorites so will chalk hold true and will we get the rubber match between these two programs for the MIAA “C” Conference Championship in 2020?
