Team Mid-Atlantic 2018 Workout Day Notes

Team Mid-Atlantic has arrived at Grand Park outside of Indianapolis for the 2018 Prep Baseball Report Future Games. On day one, position players took part in a showcase workout in front of well over 160 coaches. Players had their stats recorded and videos taken over a twelve hour marathon and Team Mid-Atlantic had one of its best statistical days in the team's history. Here are some of our quick notes, full stats will be posted later today.

-Carlisle 2020 OF Trey Carter tied an PBR Future Games event record with an outfield velocity of 95 yesterday. Carter also had the team's top exit velocity at 100 and ran a 6.89 60 yard dash.

-Gate City 2020 C/OF Jonathan Compton had Team Mid-Atlantic's fastest 60 time with a 6.57. He also hit 98 on his exit velocity. 

-IMG Academy and Delaware product 2020 SS/RHP Jake Gelof had a strong all-around day as well, running a 6.95 60, hitting 97 on his exit velocity and throwing 92 across the infield.

-All six catchers and 12 of the 15 Team Mid-Atlantic players broke 90 MPH on their exit velocities. Briar Woods 2020 C Nathan Cmeyla was 93 and ran a 6.91 while also hitting 81 for his catcher velocity. Cmeyla had the top pop times for the team with 1.93-2.01. Gonzaga 2020 C Christian Ficca was also 93 on his exit velocity. 

-Bishop O'Connell 2020 SS Eddie Eisert had the second best 60 time for Team Mid-Atlantic with a 6.72 while posting exit velocities over 90 from both sides of the plate, with 94 from the right side being his top number.

-Gonzaga 2020 OF/RHP Garrett Newsome also lit it up from the outfield, hitting 91 on his position velocity while posting an exit velocity of 92 and running a 7.03 60 yard dash.

-Centreville 2020 OF Thomas Trinca also had a good all-around day, throwing 89 from the outfield and putting up an exit velocity 93 while running a 6.85 60 yard dash.

-Collegiate 2018 C Lew Rice was 90 on his exit velocity from the left side and Archbishop Spalding 1B Josh Moylan hit from the left side as well with an exit velocity of 89 with a wood bat.

-John Carroll 2020 OF Charles Hafer III had a nice gap to gap round during batting practice and showed off his strength at the plate with an exit velocity of 94.

-Archbishop Spalding 2020 SS Ethan McCormick had a solid all-around day, running a 7.03 60, posting an infield velocity of 84, and an exit velocity of 87.

-2021 catchers JT Carter (Bishop O'Connell) and Austin Younce (Greenbrier Christian) were 91 and 90 respectively on their exit velocities. Carter's pop times were 2.00-2.18 and Younce's were 2.08-2.16. Broadway 2021 SS Bryce Suters showed some projectability and had an exit velocity of 88.
