Since its inception in 2005, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in every state we are in. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote high school baseball and, ultimately, help prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level.

The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state. Evident in the fact that Prep Baseball Report has more full-time scouts than any other independent amateur scouting company in the country.

Coaches and scouts alike are always looking to find the most updated information when traveling the scouting circuit and recruiting players. Prep Baseball Report has become a first stop for all coaches to find that information. Player profiles are the most used resource on our site and PBR Maryland continues our breakdown of the top 50 viewed profiles of 2017 with our most viewed profile.

Scouting Report

7/2017

Bulger has used this year to show why he should be considered one of the top offensive prospects of the 2020 class. A strong spring season at DeMatha followed up by an impressive summer circuit for the catching prospect. Defensively, this was where we saw the most improvement in Bulgers game, as his athleticism has caught up to his skill set behind the dish, becoming much more comfortable in game with soft hands and a quiet receiver. Combined with his strong arm and 1.9 pop, Bulger is forming himself into a high end catching prospect.

1.21.17 (Freshmen Free Showcase) - Strong athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 195-pounds. An explosive hitting catching prospect that should be a top player in the state throughout his high school career. Ran a 4.24 home to first. Hits from an athletic, slightly open setup. Short rock-back load with swagger. Good rhythm throughout. Creates explosive bat speed with pull side power. Gets nice extension through contact. Exit velocity of 103 mph. Somewhat stiff while receiving, should continue to get more comfortable and then his natural athleticism will take over. Quick feet and hands on exchange in pop throws. Fast release and carry on throws. Catcher velocity of 76 mph with a pop time that ranged from 1.88 - 1.97.

10.6.16 - Physically strong for young age at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. Impressive quick twitch behind the plate with a short arm action on throws down to second. Pop times consistently 2.0 and and as low as 1.98. Still needs to develop as a receiver and blocker, which he shows the athleticism to do as much. Showed quick hands at the plate and strength at the plate with a power ability that is advanced for his age.
