Solid compact frame at 5-foot-7, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Hits from an athletic set up slightly open. Short smooth load with leg lift and hands at shoulder height. Short swing path at the plate with quick hands through the zone and shows some extension through contact. Uphill finish and slight drift in lower half at times. 84 mph exit velo. Sound actions in the outfield. works thru the ball with clean actions and has sound arm action throwing from an almost over the top slot. Throws were accurate with average carry at 81 mph.

MD Top Prospect Games 6/20/17

Wharton has an athletic swing that produces consistently sound contact. He has a simple stride and leg kick and is able to get the barrel on plane with the pitch early. He improved upon his lower half usage and should be able to put balls in the gaps from time to time. In the outfield, he doesn't set the ball up very well and has some trouble getting the ball out of his glove. Throws have average carry.

2.12.17 - Solid frame at 5-foot-7, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. HIts from an athletic set up with strong base. Short load at the plate with a slightly uphill bat path that gets around the ball at times. Shows quick bat speed and strength at the plate with power potential. Good balance, could get some more lower half involvement. Exit velocity of 85 mph. Active feet in the outfield with athletic actions. Clean hands shorter arm action with slight pause in arm. Throws had average carry at 79 mph and looks to have more in the tank.
